Yeah, so I had a headlight go out on my ford fusion. First time i've had this happen since I got the vehicle, no big deal right. Went and bought bulbs then popped the hood. These fucking faggots at ford did this shit on purpose. I had to literally removed the coolant tank just to reach the headlight. The only other option was to remove the wheel well cover. This is a fucking joke. This is jews at their worst. Short Ford. Will never buy another ford product ever again.

I've already lost. Unemployed, 25 grand in debt, and down to my last $8000. I literally cannot recover and am weighing my options. I was going to buy a small trailer to hook up to my car, but first I need to buy a hitch and wiring harness, but the wiring harness won't be in stock for several months. By the time they get the fucking thing in stock, I won't have the money to pay for it, let alone purchase a tiny trailer to sleep in. I could theoretically just sleep in my car, but I have 2 dogs and 2 cats that I inherited from my father that I can't just abandon. I'm so fucking dead. With regard to your question, it would make me feel great, because at least I'm not the only one whose life will be over.

Sorry, right to repair ain't in the constitution (not that that would matter).

I remember some history about how many states tried to outlaw automobiles early on. The reasoning was that they were basically superpowers - you could commit a crime and cross state lines the same day. You would be unaccountable to anyone coming or going. The cops would have to buy cars too in order to harass you. No individual should have that much power.

We're going back there now. I hope you at least like the aesthetics of the vehicles.

Seems like Amazon laying off a shitload of workers are starting to bleed out into their subsidiaries. I actually might be re-thinking pbr
"Brazil's Senate Speaker Rodrigo Pacheco Monday said that come February he intends to put up for voting a bill aimed at creating stability in the price of fuel.

Senator Rogério Carvalho's project foresees the formation of prices for oil-derived fuels taking as a reference the average prices of the international market, the internal costs of production and those of imports, it was reported. The idea is “to protect the interests of consumers, reduce external vulnerability and the constant variations of internal prices,” Carvalho argued.

Currently the formula for calculating fuel prices is based on the International Price Parity which, in Carvalho's opinion, “has consequences for the entire economy, to the detriment of the most vulnerable.” He added that the time has come when it has become necessary “to discuss Petrobras' pricing policy, the way it encourages imports and the alternatives to it is reinforced,” following yet another price increase of around 4.85% in the prices of gasoline last week."

Lulas likely head Of energy wants to fuck around with oil price control.

My autistic old white neighbor would also show up to local high school meetings (he literally has no children) to try and explain to random ass school teachers how they should orient the solar panels on the large parking lot. Once again wrote a literal dossier for a meeting he should not have even been at

He also spearheaded a local movement against a McDonalds being built nearby, despite him being morbidly obese. It was absolutely not about the food but about the spatial orientation about the drive-thru and how it would impact traffic

Happy. It's gonna suck, people will die as a direct result, there will be fuckery and hard times for everyone - but at least the nearly century old debt supercycle bubble will be popped and markets will be forced to reflect reality if even for just a moment before being propped back up to above the trendline yet again by the machinations of those that make policy decisions for the dollar. If it's bad enough to have the US openly and seriously experimenting with CBDC implementation - which I think it'd be safe to say everyone everywhere is universally against unless they're in the employ of Satan AND a complete fucking retard - then it's bad. Mr Hunt, who has said “everyone” will have to pay more tax, is expected to freezing the thresholds at which workers begin paying higher rates of income tax in England and Wales so that more people are drawn into the higher brackets as their wages rise.

Other measures include higher council tax bills south of the border, lowering the top rate of income tax threshold from £150,000 to £125,000, extending the windfall tax on oil and gas giants to electricity generators, scaling back the support for energy bills from April, a higher minimum wage, and increasing benefits and state pensions in line with inflation.

Hey /smg/ newbie here. So I've been reading about memestocks like GME and MMTLP but there's something I don't understand yet. How can people know that there are ongoing shorts that need to be covered? Is it all public info? If so, where can I find that info?

Also in the case of MMTLP the whole narrative is that shorters need to buy the preferred shares before the company goes private. But doesn't that apply only to the shorts opened before the merger of MetaMaterials and Torchlight? If you opened the short after they merged you wouldn't owe any perferred stocks to anyone, right?

So the question is
1) how do we know there are shorts that need to be covered
2) how do we know when they are opened (to know if they actually need to buy MMTLP or not)

>1) how do we know there are shorts that need to be covered
Simplest way is looking at short interest, but that's an obfuscated metric that larps as being 1000% legit and representing all short percentage of a companies full float of created/issued shares. It would be accurate if only the total number of shares issued by the company were in actuality the total number of shares traded/tradeable but that's almost never the case across the entire market because there is a whole system of fraudulent bullshit built around abusing the locate system to essentially naked short stocks by printing cfd's on the assumption you have a counter-party for a borrow when in reality you and ten other people might be using that same share as a locate at the same time. This vig only works so long as the majority of shares on the market for a given company are held in brokerages, who make assloads off of lending fees, because technically all shares held by a brokerage on behalf of their customers are actually the brokerages property from a legal standpoint - they're all held in "street name" aka the name of the brokerage. All of this is justified as having been necessary for orderly function of the markets, the stock market works on fractional reserve lending principles, and when taken to extremes that allows for an insane amount of fraud.
>2) how do we know when they are opened (to know if they actually need to buy MMTLP or not)
Watch how many shares are borrowed on a daily basis for a company to see what kind of liquidity levels are necessary/being used for establishing or rolling existing positions. I'd say watch the swaps market but that shit isn't getting reported beyond the most threadbare information until 2023 for "national security reasons" - part of the drama surrounding the FTX blowup was the existence of tokenized shares of stocks which also played a big role in shit like this.

A great example of C++ HFT MM algorithms. An improvement idea I have suggested to the author but can also be attempted by interested algotraders is that a fast model like XGBOOST (there is a C++ library) is used alongside some alphas to make spreads asymmetric before traders can trade against you and you get negative edge in those trades.

Regarding @vaginaQuant note :
Due to the very fine granularity of data (hidden orders, cancellations, imbalance, orders arrival rate etc),
dont you think its an overkill to label optimal actionable circumstances (setting the spreads for example),

Lets say I want to have 3 labels

1)Spread width
2)Skew of the spread
3)Signal for market or Limit order

Dont you think unsupervised algos(like RL,genetic algos) better for this type of problem as opposed to supervised ML ?
because you can just slap a reward function that reflects what I care about and its good to go.
For eg reward function would be a complex function that looks at standard deviations
profits and drawdowns and homogeneity of trades, and many, many different things.
Love to hear your thoughts about it

vaginaQuant — Today at 11:50 AM
it's a tradeoff obv. Like u can know u have people hitting you that are putting edge against you, but you may also know that there is 20x as much noise traders in the VPIN so it doesn't make sense to make it asymmetric because the marginal gain from removing those -alpha trades doesn't beat the loss of the flow from the noise traders. It's a little more complex than just making it wide and frankly it's kind of an art layering the strategies with your inventory.
I gave XGBOOST as a basic example because I was assuming there was some sort of HFT MM strat running. there's a lot more you can do with order types not just limits.
u should ideally be hiding your flow especially in crypto markets and also attempt to stay one ahead using complex order types to run things like 0+ strategies.
Yes you want to provide liquidity but if you can engineer a better price whilst not hurting the marginal response function then that is obviously something to do
PenisQuant — Today at 11:55 AM
gotcha, thanks vagina
vaginaQuant — Today at 12:02 PM
There's a few elements. Fast updating of orders. Naughty order types (i.e. I send 1k buy, 200 get filled it sits stale, price moves up 25 cents 400 fills, then price goes another 50 cents, and it all fills at that price. Suddenly at this jacked up price I find loads of liquidity, THIS IS EQUITIES!!!), removing adverse conditions, creating some cheap alpha with your inventory, dealing with VPIN balancing act
If your order sticks out in the order flow even if it is only 1k shares or something the price gets jacked up. You can break up 50k shares into 1k pieces and it will still get jacked up each time. 200 shares (thin liquidity that exists instantly, 200-400 more shares after the price is jacked up, then the actual liquidity pops out after jacking up the price even more)
And that is why complex order types exist. Limit orders get killed ahahahah.

Is the market a scam? Why are stocks allowed to move before or after hours? I thought the traders went home during those hours so why is trading still happening?

Another question. When a stock like target yesterday drops like 15%, is there a massive spread between the buy and ask price or are there still buyers all the way down?

Yes the market is a scam. The joos made it to legally steal your money. There are no real buyers and sellers it is all done by robots to fix the price where ((they)) want it. Afterhours are just to fool the goy into buying or selling in a panic. The futures (trading when not in market hours) should generally be ignored because they are fake and don't matter

US employment numbers arent released yet. it seems to have something to do with eurozone CPI numbers. everything came in-line, but this indicates inflation is still going up in the EU. perhaps the market was looking for a surprise beat and in-line wasn't good enough?
