ok so im just making a quick sumup here for how to store and accsess your LINK without any chance of losing it.

1. create a cold wallet on an offline PC, preferably a dedicated one where you will never connect to the internet again
2. send your link into the created wallet
3. save the info to accsess your wallet in a txt
4. encrypt it with a very very very long password that you can remember
5. copy that file on multiple usb sticks
6. spread and hide them; you could theoretically also store the encrypted file online, it is useless without the password (has to be very long so nobody can bruteforce it)

HOW TO ACCSESS AND YOUR WALLET / SEND LINK

1. probably best do just set up an offline PC where you take out the internet functions, that way you will never have to worry about anything really
2. learn how to do OFFLINE transactions with my ether wallet (its pretty simple once you understand)
3. Create transaction data on your online pc, put it on usb, plug into the offline pc
4. Decrypt the keyfile, accsess your wallet, create the transaction data, copy back to usb and plug it back into the online pc
5. upload and send the transaction, done

Literally impossible to be hacked this way; there is not a single keylogger that can do anything here. They would literally have to raid my home and force me at gunpoint. I am the only person on this planet that can use these LINKIES now. Theoretically you can do this at any place in the world aswell, if you decide to upload the encrypted file; however i am too schizo to do that.

I get that despite this being pretty simple, its probably too much for the brainlets here; but anyone with a decently sized stack should look into offline storage / transactions. Peak maximum security. Also for encryption i use veracrypt.

yes, i forgot to point this out, the logic here is that you dont want it on an exchange and get ftx'd

To be completely honest with you I use a Defi wallet instead of a hard wallet. The keys do not exist anywhere online only on a piece of paper I hid in multiple locations. Is this unsafe?

My plan is decidedly simpler, which is to commit to a lengthy locked-up staking period and live off the rewards. That way I don't even have custody and no thug can force me to hand my tokens over. Lockups have an advantage I'm looking forward to employing.

All you retards listen to me. To maximize the security of your wallet just use one hardware(wallet1)and and passphrase in your brain(wallet2), create a multisign smart contract wallet on SAFE gnois. Done

hardware wallets go directly into your computer, so they are not airgapped, so they are decidedly less secure than using an airgapped pc
also they are a clear target for supply chain attacks because they are crypto-specific
also some people even let the hardware wallet generate their pk which is even more stupid
>>52445061
day 1 hacks to do what? Exfiltrate bits from an airgapped computer?
>>52447506
theoretically it can if there's a worm that manages to infect the airgapped computer via usb and transfer data back, to prevent that it would be more secure to transfer the unsigned and signed tx back and forth just by typing it out
also a virus could trick you into signing a different transaction than you actually intended (i.e. replacing the target address) but the unsigned tx is human readable so you can just check it
I think

why would you do this btw when you can just sha256 the password itself and use that as a pk? provided it has enough bits of entropy of course

that's just what a mnemonic seed phrase is
and it's not secure unless it's been randomly generated
