Criminally deceitful centralized exchanges != shitcoins. Maxi or not, you're misrepresenting shitcoins in the exact same way that you're complaining about bitcoin being misrepresented.

How do you think FTX went bust? Alameda "research" where chasing shitcoins for yield in the name of DeFi. Bitcoin, and Bitcoin only.

There is no second best.

That's right. Too bad the non-fungible shitcoin gets all the limelight.

Anyone who claims that the problem is solely because of CeFi platforms and that DeFi is the solution, is beyond redemption at this point. Chasing DeFi yield is exactly how FTX, 3AC, Luna, Celcius, and Voyager all went bust. The CeFi platforms were just packaging up the food token yield farming in a platform that seemed more palatable for sophisticated investors. If you follow the money, it all ended up as "yield" in degenerate DeFi platforms.

In TradFi, the same shit happens too. But they are at least smart enough to lobby the government with a monopoly on money to bail them out by printing the difference.

By being criminally deceitful right from the start.

!= all DeFi. The 'problem', as your image suggests, is an opaque and corrupt financial system. The 'solution' is transparency. Which is what DeFi can give you.
>In TradFi, the same shit happens too
And everyone pays for it with zero recourse. Your solution is what? Just accept it?

What people don't seem to understand is we don't really have real DeFi in reality either.

All these smart contracts that are put behind upgradable proxy contracts. Some dexes going full retard and getting their proxy contracts audited by Certik and boasting their audits, retards not noticing... that's not defi.

>By being criminally deceitful right from the start.
Yes, by criminally using customer deposits to gamble in the DeFi casino.
>!= all DeFi. The 'problem', as your image suggests, is an opaque and corrupt financial system. The 'solution' is transparency. Which is what DeFi can give you.
The solution is the definancialisation of everything. The problem with DeFi is the Fi, not the De. There is no nominal yield without a nominal loss in sound money. It doesn't matter if it's transparent or not if people still get robbed.
>And everyone pays for it with zero recourse. Your solution is what? Just accept it?
Yes, everyone pays for it in TradFi. In DeFi, only the retards partaking in the circus pay for it, so in that respect DeFi is 1000x better. It would take the DeFi total collapse over socialised losses via the federal reserve any day of the week.

My solution is to not partake in any kind of financial engineering.

This. It's not really "De"Fi if the entire thing is run on centralised L1 that run mostly on AWS with centrally issued "stable"coins that can be frozen at the behest of the US government. Newsflash for shitcoiners: rour favourite algorithmic stablecoin isn't really decentralised if it's backed by the state captured USDC.

Ultimately, you cannot have a decentralised stablecoin if the frame of reference is fiat, because fist itself is centralised. This simple fact alone kills all of "De"Fi.

For me, the example that bitcoin sets is that you can change the world with a computer program. I think the world could use changing *more*.
