XCM has price floor of $0.60 on coinmetro.
XCM currently swapping on dex for $0.25.
Kevin confirms today that price floor isn't going away and XCM order books will be fixed soon.

You are on /biz/ but this is actually free money.

wtf does this even mean? So coinmetro will buy all xcm at $0.6?

>> No.52421691

>>52421626
You literally can't sell below $0.60. The exchange will not let you put the order in. They had this same issue a couple years ago when the market turned and they had a $0.03 price floor and this same thing happened. Buying up any liquidity that won't price impact over $0.60 is basically free money when the order books get sorted out.

Meh. They burn what, 4K tokens a week? Let's say that Kevin plays a blinder with advertising, media exposure, and TRAM 2.0 over the next few months and they more than 10x volume in a savage bear market. Then they'd burn 50K XCM a week. That would eat through the roughly 3M XCM in the Euro and USD sell walls in... fourteen months. Provided no-one added to it, of course. And you can roughly estimate that staking alone churns out an additional 3-4M XCM a year.

remember the burn and the fee conversion aren't the same thing, cm basically burns half of their fees so if they did manage to 10x the volume that's be around 100k xcm bought back a week and 50k of that would get burned
it'd still be shit but not as shit

ultimately it'd be better in the long run if there was no floor and the exchange could buy 2x-3x as much xcm or more (assuming xcm dropped to around 20-30c) and there wouldn't be such a huge supply at such a high price

Concrete cities are connected to the rest of the world.
The existence of golden cities with inhabitants would imply they managed to get by for so long without the will to contact and maintain relations with the outside world.
Uncontacted people, or just their leaders, are content with what they have, be it gold or dirt.

What if there is a cute brown girl there who yearns for the outside world but can't leave because she is unbanked.
One of the basic concepts and most simple use cases for Cardano is that of “banking the un-banked.” That means getting people who don’t have access to any real kind of financial services, something that they can use in day to day living. It may seem super basic to anyone in European countries or nearly all of North America. We are used to having great financial institutions. It’s not even on our radar to think of what it must be like to not have access to our money anywhere on earth.

Go out of the first-world countries, though, and you start to see how it is for massive numbers of people who are not able to get access to any services. It’s alarming to learn just how difficult it can be to manage money if all you ever get is a tiny amount of cash, and you have to keep it on your own. You can’t invest it. You don’t earn interest. You can’t even use it for collateral for credit. It’s just pretty colored paper that’s worth what it says and no more. It can be used to buy you food but only if you can keep it safe from anyone who might want to steal it. If you want to grow your money you don’t have many ways to do so. Something simple like a sewing machine, which might help you start a tailoring or mending business would be a pipe dream. It might cost two or three months wages.

Now imagine what it would mean if you wanted to start a new business and instead of having to come up with all of the money on your own, you could get support from a community who was willing to invest in you. It would be life changing. I found out about a program like this in the Dominican Republic a few years back. It was a super simple system of community pooled resources that acted similar to a bank. They were being started up around the small island nation by a charity group. It was literally changing peoples lives. I saw it first hand.

>> No.52426321

>>52426179
Now imagine that, even though everyone in the country is pretty poor, they all still have access to cell phones. (This is mostly true.) If you could create a system that allowed free flow of funds into a secure system, that could be not only secured by each person individually, but could be pooled and invested in such a way as to generate passive interest income, it could be revolutionary. Add to that, the concept of collateralizing funds for loans or grants and it’s a total new paradigm. Even further beyond this is the idea of boundary-less identification. Where every person could have a provable method to identify themselves for myriad uses. From voting to driving or country-free passports. This is what Charles sees when he looks at the possibilities inherent in the Cardano ecosystem.

We are on the first steps of this system right now. The First Nation states are starting to take notice. There are contracts being signed that could mean that millions of people will soon be using the network for everything from basic money to smart contract systems, to voting, to civil participation. Now extrapolate that to all of the people in the world who have never had access to that type of freedom. Who have only ever been able to guard their cash by carrying it with them or burying it in the jungle or hiding it in their house. People who don’t have an easy way to prove even who they are. Think of what it might mean to be able to participate in a meaningful way in the same kinds of services that we in the first world take for granted. That would change lives. Think of how many people we are talking about. I’m willing to bet there are more of those people than there are who have access to those basic services by the grace of their birth.

This is what Charles is talking about when he says, “We are Cardano, and if you allow us, we’d like to change the world.”

>> No.52426451

>>52426306
Not going to read that but how is Cardano or any crypto for that matter going to bank the unbanked?
It's a pipe dream, AML regulations won't allow it, we'd rather shut out billions of poorfags to prevent a couple of criminals laundering their drug money.
Now CBDCs on the other hand might work.

No you brainlet I initially bought XCM because it is the utility token of the best exchange. I buy good coins not to sell in one go and buy into another shitcoin like you might do because that's not how investing in projects works. Would you tell Warren Buffett that he bought Coca-Cola just to dump it and.. then what? buy it again? If you like something what else is there? Do also you think all crypto is about selling high to stack sats. I'm buying because I expect my holdings to grow so that I can exchange them for things I like, ideally with minimal fiat interaction, like maybe selling it briefly to buy the thing I need but never to keep fiat. Give me a list of better tokens and coins to invest into than XCM KDA and I will sell everything (on uniswap) and buy your bags

Not all assets are equal, if you prefer artificially inflated tokens you could take a look at tokens like BNB or FTT.
I buy assets because I believe in the vision and future of the token or the company or entity behind it.

I can imagine how insane and cheated u must feel looking at your xcm balance and thinking its somehow real and you may somehow someday be able to cash it out, but deep down u know the truth. u were scammed and are destined to bump threads for as long as your golden days may last you

You are retarded. The price floor on coinmetro is that the order books won't accept sells of below 60 cents. That doesn't mean anyone will buy at that price especially if its now cheaper elsewhere.

He wasn’t ready. I keep hoping the incompetence is a facade for something major going on in the background, but I am left scratching my chin. Instead of wasting money on champagne helicopter trips, Goodbye Goldman ads and bus adverts, stay home. Stop with traveling to give speeches and just build something any idiot can use. I get on Coinbase and I can “buy, sell or convert.” I’ll pay the higher fees because I know I won’t make some stupid mistake. On LCX, I don’t even know where to get started. First I have to transfer money from another exchange because there are little to no fiat on-ramps. Then im supposed to move money from one wallet to another exchange wallet and then I have to scan through a mile long list of trading pairs? Then I have to worry about market or limit orders and accidentally buying something when liquidity is low? It’s bad for casual investors and terrible for daily traders. How can they not see that? I don’t even like to look at the charts on LCX. I’m not smart enough to know the bars and wicks and stuff. Just like to look at a chart with a simple line go up or down. I don’t even see that basic option. It’s much too confusing and unworkable. That should have been first and foremost. Why did we spend a year on Tiamonds and then have to settle for a subpar exchange and app?

2. Liquidity – Liquidity is another important factor to evaluate before deciding on the right exchange. An exchange with good liquidity will have many users/traders who are frequently trading. The liquidity in a crypto exchange can also be determined by looking at trading volume. The higher the volume of trade, the better the results.
