But what happens when say you upload the trezor to a software wallet? Does it revert to the current price? Or is the idea to NEVER reconnect it unless its approaching or surpassing the cold wallets price? I too am retraded so I appreciate the info.

If he locked Bitcoins he has bitcoins and they sell at today value.

Unless there is some far fetched shenanigan involved that's how it works.

Since the tool is not online it has no idea what the prices today are.

>> No.52406266

>>52405889
>what the prices today
The price is whatever someone is willing to pay for it. Just need to find a buyer who has been locked in for the last year. Look in the news for people coming out of long comas, they are also a bit groggy so they're less willing to ask questions.

for the newfags who don't know, this guy is trolling - the only way you can lock bitcoin in at that price is if they were wrapped first, otherwise someone could have simply claimed his unclaimed and unwrapped bitcoin.

There's wrapping, locking and leveraging crypto.

Wrapping is when you use one token to "wrap" another, potentially multiplying their worth, but with the risk of the wrapped token explosively reducing in size if the wrapping fails. Some people wrapped their tokens for a long time and they diminished in value and once unwrapped they were worth much less. Note : the token you use to wrap the other token is destroyed during the unwrapping.

Locking a token means you kind of place it in stasis, the value of it is permanently fixed to a certain price. This can be good as you can potentially lock a token at its all time high, but if the token later grows in value even more, your locked tokens will be left inside. This is commonly used with cold wallets since they are taken out of circulation and do not interact with the block chain anymore.

Leveraging a token is like placing a bet. You send your token to a third party as a wager that a token will increase or decrease in value, usually in a set time period. Depending on the result of the wager you get the token back if you win with more of the same token by a certain multiplier, but if you lost the wager your token is lost forever. It's essentially gambling and you have to be online and connected to an online wallet to do this.
