Government funded companies to manufacture domestic goods. Employing locals only. These companies would be privatised once profitable but could not move off shore/outsource.
Far stronger unions/labor laws to balance out the power of capital.

yeah this is pretty much it, 1933 destroyed the USA, but WW2 fucked the rest of world so badly that the capital had no place to go but north america, and even to this day there's really no alternative.
We need sound money really badly. There are too many parasites. Medical administration, finance, credit industry admin, you name it. This will probably end with some kind of holocaust if we're being honest. Evaluate the situation for what it is, and you kind of always end up back at a point where people realize they've been fucked over and react violently. It's also an opportunity for really well spoken people to put into words the entire thing so that a following of angry people can react violently in a 'constructive' way.

Why would you want to go back to the economy of the 1950s. I want to charge to the economy of the 2050s which is likely going to involve socialism and a post-growth model.

Millions of people will have less but billions will get more. We can all be happy that way you just need to stop being spoilt shits.

Pick a country in europe and 50/50 chance you hit a country with some really great community orientated policies. We need to adopt some of these. Finland, iceland, amsterdam and sweden are a couple of the places I look to for better policies.
