Crypto has always been a game of survival. Eventually it will only be the BTC air gapped cold storage chads with unbelievable sized stacks remaining. Everyone else will have lost all their money over time due to nonstop exchange failures and defi hacks.

Coinbase hasn't rugged. They are audited. Gemini hasn't rugged. They are audited. Normies need to learn to self custody or actually use legit services that actually abide by all the regulations people supposedly want. Coinbase has audits. Coinbase is regulated. Yet people still used FTX in the fucking bahamas.

Solutions like verifiable proof of reserves get you half way there and are a step in the right direction, but self custody and defi are what people need to learn in the long run. They aren't really that hard to set up, its much harder to open a bank or brokerage account its just that most people already have done that.

Maybe we need a new generation who grows up using crypto and then there is no familiarity bias towards trad fi.
