Little Sammy boy literally printed $30 billion of USDT with his scam firm Alameda.

You can't make this shit up.

I found that article.

Who the fuck is Cumberland capital which supposedly printed 39 bil or so in addition to sbf - I've never heard of them.

yes, I can't believe none of the big CT accounts are talking about this.

Alamenda basically "bought" $35bn of tether from the ponzi company, and we have to believe they bought it at $1. However given that FTX are insolvent after a bank run of approx $6bn, how are we expected to believe they genuinely bought $35bn of tether? Here's the catch, of course they didn't, they bought it for pennies on the dollar.

Which means that half of tether in existence (half was sent to Alameda) is not backed by $1. It's anywhere from 20 to 80 cents per tether. If there is a bankrun on tether it is genuinely over. Crypto will never recover from that.

I have some in usdt also but the interest is higher

Tether denied they're involved in FTX and Alameda. If Tether is lying, it's over for USDT, isn't it. Everyone is going to be using BUSD by next year. CZ just can't stop winning.

Nah it'll be good for BTC. I've NEVER touched Tether in my life and I've been in crypto for 6 years.

Could be a good move, we're likely to get anoher round of FUD shortly I feel. Even if it doesn't go under it could be like May when USDT depegged to approx $0.95 and USDC/BUSD went to $1.05. made some nice cash there.

I mean long term it could be, but USDT is pretty much the reason why BTC has hit new highs. Look at the market cap of USDT from 29th July (2nd run to november ATH) compared to the market cap of FTT from July 21st . It's pretty clear alameda jewed the orderbooks with tether.

Isn't Binance also fucked if tether implodes? Doesn't binance also hold a lot of tether which might become worthless overnight?

That's silly. It would just go back to how it all was before the cancer that is tether came around. The good old days. Also would filter out half the retards who can't buy crypto without a cex.

It would just put BUSD into second place. CZ would take that hit even if it hurt him.

Does it matter what the premium or discount they got their tether from finex? As long as they themselves have the baking. I fail to see where the problem lies.
If finex decided to trade usdt for ftt the joke is on them.
Now it’s another question, the backing of usdt

That's not how it works dumbass. The tether they acquired could be backed by actual investors 1:1. It doesn't have to be their money. $35bm worth of transactions of tether is reasonable
