CZ knew Sam was treading a thin line with funding through FTT and surely much less than 1:1 backing. All he had to do was cause extra withdrawal pressure and devalue FTT a bit and the cards would fall. Even if it could cause a minor disruption and negative sentiment for the crypto market as a whole, it's healthier for it to fall apart sooner than later. He torched the wasp's nest though, Sam had deep connections. We'll see how "they" come back
