OP, if everyone tried to sell at a local top, there would be no buyers, and thus no sale. And if people only sold at the top, no one would be selling when it is at the bottom, so it would be impossible to buy.

That's not really how markets work, unless a coin/company goes under there will eventually be higher highs over time. I day trade a bit and ride the peaks and valleys. I never get it exactly right but I never lose either.
