Guys I just got back home after flying back from Djibouti.

When I was on my way back I got talking to a guy sitting next to me on the plane that was hurtling through the sky (high up).

Anyways, we got talking and he asked me if I'd heard of Gamestop (ticker: GME)? I said "no, it sounds “like something that Redditors would get excited about.”

A price supression algorithm works against buy pressure over time. Given enough time the buy pressure and price suppression meet up and eventually there's a breakout. Concert tickets, games, artwork, medical records, real estate documents, etc... won't mean much, if the technology behind NFTs is not very strong and is full of holes.

The problem with the way NFTs were done, is the tech was done the lazy way.

This has opened the door to all the issues we've been seeing with NFTs.

Someone took an ERC-721, changing the rules of an ERC token so that it losses its fungiability.

What can you do with an ERC token with no fungiability? Not much.

But potentially, you can make collectibles, unique documents and records, and other functions giving those tokens more power.

This would require a complex project, especially if you want any real proof of ownership and authentication, with any real authority. It may even require a new blockchain, that incorporates decentralized databases, oracles, and a source of authority. Keeping everything on-chain to be decentralized.

None of which NFTs have, because they didn't bother with putting the effort into a complex project.

Instead, NFTs were done the lazy way, by just adding a few lines in a smart contract. And just putting in things that just say "This NFT is associated to a concert ticket, because I say so in this line. And it's authentic and gives you ownership, because trust me bro. Only someone trustworthy can write smart contracts, right?".

In the end, you are left with a token with no fungiability, that gives you 0 ownership of anything in the real world, much less proves authenticity, much less has any authority to do anything it claims it can do.

The only way current NFTs can work, is through a centralized system, where it can get authority for its functions, but then no longer making them decentralized.
