I have a strange question. How do I find buyers for medicinal leeches? How does one go about finding buyers if ads turn up nothing?
Let me explain. I live in Serbia and we have a shitload of these in our swamps. They are even being bought by Gypsies that smuggle them into Romania. The thing is they cost about 10$ a one gram specimen (10000 $ a kilo, and I can catch a kilo on a good day) in the western world and the Gypsies here are paying 50$ for a kilo, that is about a thousand leeches. There is a ton of websites that sell them so there is demand. I am proficient in the art of catching them but how to I even begin to look for buyers? And if I contact the websites that sell them how do I even approach them and set a price? I would sell it for what is a cheap price to them but to me here it would be very good. I just dont know what they pay and cant even make an offer. Bulk is no problem if i found someone to buy them at a reasonable price i will get them in large numbers. I might even start buying and reselling them.
I have a friend that works in some customs crap that can help me get export licence for endangered species, which is huge, but to no use if I can find no one in the west to sell them to. Any ideas?

How big is the market for Serbian swap leeches, really? Sounds like a front for some sort of money laundering.

How do you catch them by the way?

The Jew fears the full-time leech gatherer.

Its not just Serbian leeches its a medical device approved for use by the fda in 2004. They have legit medical uses im not gonna go into that.
But yea the Gypsies are robbing us blind. I just wanna circumvent the Romani Gypsy smugglers and sell them to the western customers directly. Potentially huge profits.
Look up prices at leech.com. Not even kidding man look it up

I catch them by donning waders and going into a swamp to stir up water. They come to the vibrations and waves. You catch them with fingers and put them in a cloth bag. Easy. Knowing locations is everything.

>leech.com
Contact them and see if they will buy from you but probably not at $10k a kilo, as that seems to be more retail price.

Otherwise, test shipping them to some Western countries like friends or whoever to see if you can actually get it delivered with them alive. Then you can setup your own Shopify.com website (which leech.com uses) and sell internationally and ship them.

If I wanted leeches I’d do the same in parts of the US.
The demand for them are quite small as their use is specialized. The normal folk try to avoid the literal bloodsucking minikikes as much as possible.

It just seems like the demand is small. In my village there is a Gypsy that buys hundreds of kilos of them a year. Maybe over a metric ton. Other villages have their own buyers too, its a sawmpy area. So metric tons of leeches bought at a low price here end up somewhere. And when I look online there are these ridiculous prices. Its very strange to me too.

Please go into medical uses. I feel like I have pooled blood under my sack and have thought about leeching. Funny how FDA approves this when everyone jokes about medieval leeching. I've always thought modern vaccination is barbaric while medieval leeching seems rational. List them on Etsy.com under the name "Serbian Fishing Bait Lures" and I will buy them from you. I buy soap from France on there all the time.

I'm guessing the reason they are so expensive is because it's expensive to keep live goods alive until point of destination. Same reason why lobsters are cheap on the shores of newfoundland and then crazy expensive anywhere far from the sea. Anything shipped alive costs a lot.

Medical leeches are grown in labs because wild leeches can carry pathogens (e.g. Aeromonis sp.). There are also different leech species in use. Your wild leeches are probably being used for fishing bait or pet food

I thought that makes sense . Its hirudo verbana and i dont what the fuck they use them for but they are the medicinal species.
>>52246471
Its easier than you think. Just put them in a jar full of water with holes for air on the lid and they can live for months without food.

If i do it ill title them something like that
