Your daily reminder not to trust Hitlerites and Greenbackers.

Whether you have a central bank print paper money, or have the government do it directly, MMT and communism are just as evil.

For months now, every thread has had infiltrators from /pol/ virtue-signalling about Jews in every post, triple-bracketing every other word, promoting communist, neo-Nazi, Greenbacker rubbish like A History of Central Banking and the Enslavement of Mankind. Expect those whom you attack to fight you back.

Sorry bros if I seem a complete ingrate and imbecile, but I am pretty new to commodities... why is gold/silver mooning now? Did I once again miss the bottom?
Won't the FED keep increasing the pace at which they are rate hiking? Shouldn't that keep the price of gold relatively low?

>> No.52233985

>>52233965
they aren't mooning but rather are trying to begin a new run from a support level. If tightening continues gold and silver could well break down.

>> No.52234192

>>52233965
Will breakdown by gold. Silver orbits it relatively via ratio.
>Gold is currency arbitrage
>International Dollar Shortage
>Foreign currencies weakening due to shortage + rate differentials
>Foreign currencies dumping on forex, causing dollar to appreciate vs gold
>Forex dumping so hard foreign central banks intervening by dumping treasury reserves to suppress dollar
(You are here)
It's only temporary until they run out of reserves. This started with the tightening but has been snowballing since UK GILT crisis. Zoom out in DXY, we're in a pullback of a 3 impulse bullish flag/wedge. When foreign central banks stop intervening due to reserve depletion, dollar continues its march upwards and gold will drop again. Then we get the final dip/capitulation in gold (dollar superspike) before plaza accords 2.0 due to breaking down international trade.

What about the US bond yields going absolutely bananas when countries start seriously dumping treasuries? Surely no-one will be able to issue debt (to actual buyers, not their own central banks) much below the US rates (because why buy Italian bonds at a lower yield than US ones).

Unlike GILTs or Italian bonds, which pay in pounds and euros, USTs pay in dollars, so they do have value in the current currency network. Commercial banks will buy them for rehypotheticating via swaps into credit lines, and pension funds, which are obligated to buy bonds, will love the higher yield to maintain entitlement obligations. I think this effect will temper US yields, hence why you see such a heavy 1y-10y inversion right now. I think you are correct in identifying the increased uselessness of foreign bonds. Really only Italian bonds are used for euro swap lines. That's why I think a plaza 2.0 is the next step, when other foreign govs say, "Look, we can't function because US treasuries are eating all the capital in the debt market." That's when they facilitate a pivot away from the dollar in plaza 2.0 to reduce its currency demand and subsequently treasury demand, increasing the marketability of their debt. I think last thread had a chart of the record gold buying spree central banks have been doing in prep. Long term I believe in gold, but medium term there is still more pain. Eurodollar futures still inverted around 3months. I'm expecting this all to play out spring of next year, after the US slowdown reduces imports, further constricting international dollar supply.

>The festival of Vulcan, the Vulcanalia, was celebrated on August 23 each year, when the summer heat placed crops and granaries most at risk of burning.[4][20] During the festival, bonfires were created in honour of the god, into which live fish or small animals were thrown as a sacrifice, to be consumed in the place of humans.

Primarily I think the debt burdened US aligned western countries & EU would push for it, but as >>52236179 pointed out, BRICS also has an incentive to de-peg from USD. We also see Saudi Arabia moving in that direction too since the oil price politics coming from the US haven't been so kind. Currently the SDR from the IMF already exists, and they could simply rebalance the currency basket, just as BRICS is trying to make a commodity basket. Ultimately gold's value is that it is trustless collateral for a monetary base, and the EU & US have much more than people give credit. One solution is another revaluing of gold upwards to help balance the new debts and central bank balance sheets. Another is to create a competing western supranational currency backed by some agreed upon basket, basically a western BRICS. Earlier this year, JPow said there could be more than 1 reserve currency.. so even the Fed has this path in mind.

Specific countries outside the EU, I would say UK, Canada, Australia, and Japan. Notice all their CBs are slowing hikes while JPow keeps the pace.

With a western and eastern reserve currency, trade could be conducted between unfriendly countries through this supranational swap without being beholden to one country's geopolitical risks, in our current case the US.

The time of day you expose yourself to light makes you go wakey wakey or sleepy sleepy. How wakey and how sleepy depends on how hurty the bright light is and the angle that the light hits your eye because we've evolved alongside the sun and have circadian rhythm, which fake lights will easily fuck up.

Sun light very bright. Big ouchy when look directly at it. Much more ouchy than the moon, thats why even at night its still dark and not ouchy to look at, and even with clouds it still light in daytime. Get ouchy light early morning wakes you up, make brain think hey it morning time, time to wake up, make you more productive and chain reaction in brain to sleep better later thanks to circadian rhythm, but too much ouchy light in evening confuse rhythm and make you wake up and hard to sleep. If ouchy light come into eye at high angle (from above) stupid monkey brain tells itself its early in the day and not 11pm so sleepy sleepy chemicals go bye bye and hello wakey wakey. Hard to sleep, less efficient sleep. Not sleep very easy or very well.

TLDR use lamps in the evening time and try not to have crazy bright lights at all because your melatonin (the thing that makes you want to go sleepy) will disappear frighteningly fast under light exposure. You want dimmer lights and lower angles the closer you are to bedtime because the brain is amazing but easily fooled. Going to sleep will be much easier and the sleep itself will be much more efficient rest.

Cocaine helps power thru that part of the day but it's not a solution, more of a cope than anything and it's unhealthy as fuck. Nice glad to hear it and no worries, hope it helps. I avoid using ceiling lights of any brightness in the evening if I can and stick exclusively to wall lights and lamps, but dimmer is definitely better than nothing if its all youve got, but the light being as close to the ground as possible is preferrable when the sun has set so a fire is perfect.
Cold exposure in the morning is good to spike cortisol (good thing early in the day, bad thing late at night) and get you energy for the day, whether its a cold shower or just a cold walk in shorts. Might help with the post-lunch fatigue if it's not an overall diet problem, or walking after a meal (if time permits) helps digestion and blood-glucose regulation.

also while I'm here and on the subject, to add to this since many of my IRL friends have fallen for the icebath after exercise meme here's a fun fact:
Cold exposure after strength training is actually bad for muscle gains. Good for reducing inflammation if you want to get back into something quickly, but if your goal is hypertrophy/getting bigger then don't do ice baths/showers in the roughly six hours following strength training or you're actually screwing yourself out of gains.
Keep it to the early morning for dat sweet cortisol spike and before you've done any training, but get warm again before you do obviously.

That's enough from me for now. Keep fit bros. The body and mind are one, and you can't buy health with any moonshot.

I've gotten to the point where I don't want to hand out information to people that don't put in the work themselves. There's a dozen links in the OP for crying out loud.
You can either get an ETF that tracks the spot price, or an ETF that has a basket of producers.
For uranium just get URNM

Start by making sure to have at least some physical PMs as a percentage of your portfolio, somewhere in the 10-30% range. Treat this as safety net money. Even if your mining picks go to complete shit, at least you can expect a 2-3x on silver spot in the next couple of years to bail you out.

Fair enough, maybe the OP is badly outdated then. I'm going to shill NNFX again in the meantime. He has a few videos about metals, which covers their use and how to invest and trade in them.
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPqWQo6-TXfFoeTkEUVUTYq2bSQN6MZtj

Gold in particular has the most industry support due to it's nature. Silver is growing in popularity and Uranium got a good amount of inflow recently, too.
Speaking of gold, you either get majors like Barrick which are big and stable, royalty companies (safe & outsources production), midtier producers, which are active and fairly safe (good upside if they become a major), and explorer/juniors which have a fail rate so high that you literally aren't allowed to short them. 95% of the time they'll fail, but the one or two that do actually turn viable will have like a 10x return.

Uranium has Cameco and Kazatomprom as the world majors. There's lots and lots of smaller projects, I like UUUU myself. URNM is a safe bet because it has lots of exposure to physical and Kazatom.

I don't think cocoa, OJ, Coffee, and Cotton have etfs so you'll have to just skip them I guess. Unless you want to pick out an actual company that does imports or whatever. Like Nestle for example is traded on OTC markets, and they probably handle their own chocolate stuff but then they aren't a pure play on that stuff.
Teucrium has funds for CORN, SOYB, WEAT, and CANE, though, which track the futures price fairly accurately.

On the topic of metals, there isn't much to pick from for copper etfs, but COPX is bullish long term as well

I'm using Yahoo for price data, since I can download the historical data as a csv and then feed it into other things. While there are futures for coal (and many other things), it doesn't seem to have a listing on Yahoo that I can download

>Strategists at TD Securities on Friday raised their terminal rate forecast to 5.50% by June next year, and predict that the Fed will pivot in December - that's when rate cuts will start, culminating in 275 bps of easing by 2025.

>Citi's strategists on Friday also raised their terminal rate forecast to as high as 5.50%, and also expect the Fed to begin cutting rates in December next year. They upped their end-2022 two-year Treasury yield forecast by 20 bps to 4.90%.

These 2/10 rates are the reason I think, like those quoted above, the fed will pivot in December. Not going to entertain arguments because I've made my case pretty clear. Likely a short rally. Hard to say desu. I'm but a humble pot farmer with a fishing addiction. But the only thing to glean from it is that if we're to have a rally, even a short lived one, then DCA on the way down. Wait for your positions to get green, and rotate out safely when you think it's reaching the top
Buying low is moar important than selling high, imo, because you can always recover even after a rally has peaked and you missed the absolute summit during the rally

Hope this helps anon

That would imply the world economy has more or less stagnated since 1985 (or longer), despite all the trillions of dollars in debt, derivatives, equities etc etc., eg the true value of all assets is still roughly the same. Also, a dovish central bank is good for gold because gold competes with bonds as a safe haven and hedge. A dovish central bank is one that sets interest rates lower than expected. Lower interest rates mean lower bond yields and lower yielding bonds are less attractive. If a bond yield is lower than the inflation of the currency over the life of the bond, investors know they will probably be better off buying gold instead of that bond. At least the gold maintains its value over time, while a negative yielding bond, by definition, does not.

These guys explained it below so I won't, but imagine if mortgage loan rate was the same as a used car. Having that high of a rate deters you from taking out a mortgage unless you're full burn retard. Some correlations are proportionate, even if inversely. So the higher/lower rate movements de/incentivize borrowing/spending/saving, which pushes people to safer havens for wealth storage, if they aren't retarded.
Hope this helps anon. These rates are important to understand. I wish you luck, fortune and many green dildos

This is outstanding. Good job senpai

I expect a soft pivot. They won't just chop their line down, I think, but rather this manner of narrow the margin greatly even to the point of holding fast at their current rate.

the catalyst is a very mature multi-month bottom pattern, aged to the limit, lots of backwardation, great COT positioning and physical drainage.

all supported by growing doubts about sovereign debt solvency (which gets worse when the FED doesnt pivot)

Reason why I'm a little bit skeptical of this PM breakout is because the general markets have been trending up too.
We all know that there's a long way for the markets to fall from here and we have been enjoying a bear market rally for a while now.
We'll only know for sure what the situation is once the markets take another big shit and we'll see how the PMs track the greater picture.
There's a very good chance that everything falls with the big boys to who knows where.
I'm going to start throwing money into the miners at this point though. There's no losing with the metals in this fucky world situation and they're still cheap. Year from now they'll be considerably higher even if they did a bit of a retest of their bottoms.
