It's far superior to BTC for every purpose. ~6min transaction time vs 60+ for btc, way lower fees, and used by a metric shitton of tokens. ETH is the next most popular crypto to BTC, so its only natural that it's the one to overtake it. Normies will flock to it when BTC is left behind as the anachronism that it is.

Sure there are better platforms out there, but going from BTC to ETH alone is like going from an Intel 8086 to a Pentium 4.
