Reminder that we're entering into the western version of the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis. 50% nominal stock market devaluation, plus 50% nominal currency valuation, fueled by inflation, reckless/corrupt government spending, and central bank policy. We're either going to clear out all of our socioeconomic bullshit during the crash and make a swift recovery like Asia did, or have it permanently break the country. Too early to say which way it will go.

There are quite a few countries that would have "crises" before the US would. Demand for dollars is still high. The only problem is if large treasury holders - China or Japan - start selling them to prop up their currencies.
Like Japan's treasury holdings are absolutely massive considering the size of their economy.

Dunno. They can raise yields as high as they want. The US never has to actually default on its debt since they can always force the Fed to buy whatever quantity of bonds is required (i.e. print the difference).

The actual resolution is austerity or financial repression or both. What we're doing now is just more can kicking while we avoid that decision. The inflationary debt death spiral of rolling debt at ever higher rates is what will force us to choose and it's starting.

BoE ECB BOJ, they all chose financial repression. We're just trying to go last and have our currency fall least, I M O, but Fed knows how this ends.

shemitah is bearish, its when jews stop planting crops for a year. then after it ends, is Rosh hashanah which is the jewish new year, and Yom Kippur which is the day of atonement for jews. the thesis is that jews sell positions on Rosh Hashanah the first of the Days of Awe to rid themselves of financial commitments and then return to the market after Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. you can try to buy on yom kippur october 6th.

september is the worst month for stocks
the final week of september is the worst week for stocks
