I came home to finish my engineering degree because the future seemed grim and like OP I was paying ridiculous amounts of rent for a job that I was kinda stagnant in (I was doing IT Janny work)
The thing is my parents live in a place with not many prospects for work. I'm getting old, the economy seems fucked and I'm so unhappy with where I am and feel like with ever passing day I don't find a job I become further unemployable. I have savings, but now it seems like they are being taken away by inflation. Also, the fact that ever since I was born I've only gotten bad news about the economy. I'm really unmotivated about anything. Not sure what's the point in being a shitty globohomo state if they can't even hold down the economy
