shit. I am similar to OP. I can't concentrate well, money isn't an appealing motivator anymore. Thankfully I have a supportive family to fall back on.

Let me guess, you're all INTP's, nothing wrong with doing nothing.
Just make sure you don't get fat during your do nothing stages.

It's worth fighting against. Most helpful thing I've found is to turn off the internet for a while and let your mind exist in the analog world long enough to regain some of the evolutionary drive that developed based on existing in a society without access to instant on-demand information overload.

That works for me but maybe not for everyone.

I bet you find time to jerk your little peen to porn every day though. That's probably the problem.
Cut that shit out, buster!

This sounds like a good idea. I blame my damn phone data plan, I dont have wifi at home, but I can still do whatever thanks to mobile data. Scrollllllllllling instagram and 4chan endlessly

It definitely works for everyone, it's nature. The problem is that voluntarily canceling home internet and downgrading to a dumbphone requires an almost superhuman level of willpower, not to mention the weeks of suffering that will follow while you struggle to life outside of the digital windtunnel.
I speak from experience, I did it for six months a few years ago. I should write a book about it, it was pretty amazing. I got books about auto repair from the library and ended up tearing down and repairing an old junker Honda Civic my family has, and before this I had never touched a bolt on a car. I got a part time retail job at an auto parts store. I started hitting the gym way more often, 3-4x/week. I read a bunch of books and watched classic movies I got from the library as well. Took tango dancing classes. Started taking long night walks.
Seriously, it's fucking unbelievable how much time there is in a day when you remove infinite digital distraction from your life. If I do it again, and I very well might, I'd make one alteration- it wouldn't just be no internet, it'd be no screens at all. Now that would be a fucking trip since I'd have to do banking and schedule appointments and whatnot by phone. I think I'm up for it though.
I have a lot to say about this stuff, feel free to ask any questions.

Just keep your smartphone and innanet for work and working on stuff and eliminate garbage like this place. It does take superhuman will but it is possible. You just have to not let yourself scroool any social platform for even one second. My biggest wasted days where when I'd check this place first thing in the morning. The longer you can delay the more productive you can be.

If you do it again the chapters in your book should be named after difficulty level settings in doom or something

That's a fun idea, might work for another book idea I've had. Thanks!
