Daily reminder that finance and economics are pseudoscientific make believe garbage, capitalism is inherently unstable, exploitative and unsustainable with a built in expiration date. All finance assets like money, crypto, debt, bonds etc are purely parasitic in nature and serve no purpose nor have any inherent value. Ever escalating recessions, poverty, debt, wealth inequality, monopolies, disease, pollution, slavery, conflict and wars are fundamental, necessary and intended functions of it, NOT glitches, and every single financier or crypto dudebro is a literal parasite.

UK gilts (their bonds) had been getting btfo massive sell off, especially on Monday - but they've gone up from 3% to 4% in like a week
when there's huge selling of the bonds it creates a 'surplus' of pound currency, as they sell UK pounds and receive pounds - they then sell these pounds and buy other currencies, driving down the strength of the pound
when they intervened / pivoted, it made the bond market more two sided, where there isn't just panic selling, now there is buying of UK bonds too - when people want to buy UK bonds they have to sell their dollars, their euros, and buy pounds, to then use these pounds to buy UK bonds
this drives down the dollar
(this is my understanding of what went down, at least)

It is due for a sharp move upward, which could be right here - however, tomorrow at 10:30est we will get the injection numbers. It may be the first triple digit injection
we are also having the contract rollover today, no longer October contract now
be careful - the nord stream pipeline outage is extremely bullish, of course, but if tomorrow we get a big injection, in combination with the cooling we're getting from the hurricane, we may see natty move lower
however.. we are getting to that point, where the EU will come and scoop it up / create a floor
I personally am waiting for the data tomorrow to go long / short, doesn't make sense to go long natural gas here and then get BTFO tomorrow morning, whereas I can just go long tomorrow morning if the injection is bad

Irrelevant to the case. All internet sites have to deal with bots. He already waived due diligence. Bots don't factor into the earnings or revenue metrics, so it's not a substantial factor. Only way this could change is if it's somehow revealed that twitter is hosting their own bot farm and faking impressions for advertisers (aka actual fraud). This is conspiracy theory level speculation though.
Day after day the updates as this case evolves continue to show how laughable Elon's defense is. Even the assigned judge is laughing at his lawyers.

Yet people have become so deluded after Elon's successful TSLA manipulation that somehow they think he's above the law.
It's simply baffling how many people openly reject the free money right in front of them with this quick TWTR flip.

I mean, think about it, people cheap out on dates or families don't go out as often to, say, Olive Garden. Eating at home is an option.

But Denny's? Its customer base are truckers who don't have an alternative, lonely seniors, methheads without a kitchen. DENN can pass food and wage inflation along without a hitch...

Not saying they'll have a huge rally since sentiment is keeping them pretty suppressed. The too I listed have the best sustainable dividends for shareholders which is where I think shareholders will see returns atm for containers.

I think tankers are massively overbought. Then again, perhaps I just sold STNG too early at like $37. I don't know though. I see pretty much no upside left here. I have no idea whether they'll sustainably sell off, but what's the point of buying when the markets already pricing in the full extent of a 2-3 year bull market? So much risk that it just doesn't last, and any moment of weakness will see stocks dump 20%.
Perhaps that's what you mean by a pullback. I suppose 20% selloffs are really just normal vol for shipping.

>I don't trust them
You're not wrong. I've made plenty of money off covered calls on the position, though at this point IV has declined too much so I'm just holding out to see if AF actually pushes through with the buybacks recently announced.
I could dump it and rotate to GSL/GNK, but I don't particularly trust those management teams either. No reason to trust anyone in shipping.

>> No.51684847

>>51684483
I agree on tankers, I wouldn't personally buy right now, but I think they'll still be strong. It's the difference between rates and investor sentiment. I prefer to be in when downside is considerably lower than upside, which is definitely no the current case.
>GNK, GSL
I can get not trusting GSL, but GNK especially with their new policy seem very shareholder centric. In general, though, LPG seems to be the best governance in the sector (which isn't saying much obviously)
