is that with steam and nintendo online and PS store, gamestop was already a dying company that was shutting down stores.
and that was like 4 years ago.
why do these people get hyped for the most dinosaur of things like bed bath (wayfair, amazon) and cinema theaters (streaming over taking).
They going to rally around kodak next?

kek, its actually very simple. its because those are the most gigashorted stocks because even a complete retard would realize that there's not much time left similar to blockbuster circa 2003 so they short

who told them to rally? the same people shorting?
i get riding a short squeeze but most of them seem like they bought the top of GME, BBBY, AMC

good question honestly, it could be, I remember back when GME was making headlines the first time it seemed like huge players were on both sides of it

Collection of due diligence on GME
>https://fliphtml5.com/bookcase/kosyg

the road so far
>Company looks like it goes bankrupt
>hedgefunds short it
>over 100%
>Reddit user Deepfuckingvalue notices
>post it on r/wallstreetbets
>thousands of redditors buy the stock to cause a short squeeze
>483$ high score in Jan/Feb21
>brokers disable buying the stock
>price goes down again but now as low as before
>activist investor (Ryan Cohen) buys in
>tries to turn the company around (NFT marketplace among other things)

>Now
Some Redditors are convinced that not all shorts closed and are now registering their shares in their name with Gamestops transfer agent to get them out of the (((DTCC))) and expose these shorts. They have become an absolute cult and are dead set on buying and registering 100% of the outstanding shares, basically completely deleting the supply side of the supply-demand graph.

>How to make money from this?
1. Buy some shares and register them in Computerhare, if they are right this will be the biggest short squeeze the world has ever seen
2. Sell cash secured puts. If the stock crabs or goes up you make money. If it goes down you roll them over until the redditors register enough shares to drive the price up again.

>Some Redditors are convinced that not all shorts close
0 evidence for this btw. The price shot up cyclically, and they shorted it back down every time. The new shorts were at $400, the originals closed in those multiple occasions it shut to $300 that those redditors all missed

Nobody actually thinks it's a salvageable company. They're desperate bagholders lying to others to get them to baghold.

Wether there are still shorts open or not has long become irrelevant. By taking their shares out of the (((DTCC))) they are destroying the supply of shares in the open market. Like sending coins to a burner wallet the market will eventually reflect this lowering of the supply with a higher price.
Open shorts would only make the inevitable price increase more explosive instead of gradual.

The entire market structure is fucked, too many shares out there for almost everything. You don't need retail investors rallying around anything, the price booms are a result of liquidity draining out of the system. Reg SHO was created right before 2008 specifically because of this, it grandfathered in a bunch of shares, but the underlying problem was never fixed so now you see it happening again across a spectrum of seemingly unrelated stocks.

How’s that going? -50% this year? GameStop only makes money by selling shares to redditors, which they’ll have to do within about 3 months to continue staying staying afloat. It doesn’t matter if they register their shares with a boomer company (it also doesn’t remove them from the general market, that’s why you can still sell you fucking dimwit) because they’ll be diluted back to liquid.
If by some miracle homeless anons and some redditors manage to register their shares, the only thing that will happen is the stock becomes too illiquid for the NYSE and it gets unlisted.

>How’s that going? -50% this year?
Irrelevant, as long as the float is not locked
>GameStop only makes money by selling shares to redditors, which they’ll have to do within about 3 months to continue staying staying afloat.
and they will buy them. Happily even.
>It doesn’t matter if they register their shares with a boomer company
It matters as long as they dont sell them
>(it also doesn’t remove them from the general market, that’s why you can still sell you fucking dimwit)
It removes the ability from the (((DTCC))) and the brokers to lend them out to market makers to provide liquidity
>because they’ll be diluted back to liquid.
And they will be registered away again
>If by some miracle homeless anons and some redditors manage to register their shares, the only thing that will happen is the stock becomes too illiquid for the NYSE and it gets unlisted.
This would be cause of celebration for them, as it would confirm their strategy is working

Have fun staying poor, because you will stay it for a long time

Yes, unlist your stock. You redditors can circlejerk about what you're going to do when you're inexplicably rich while you die, without living your life.

BBBY has bankruptcy priced in at 0.1 P/S, it's still a valid deep value play like GME was pre-sneeze. the current state of GME is shit, maybe when DRS gets closer to 100% it will get carried by retard strength like tesla in the next bull cycle. AMC is a farce.
