When my dad was my age, he had six kids. I've never even had sex.

When my parents were my age they were married with no kids. I’m currently married with no kids. My parents didn’t have kids until their mid thirties in order to ensure a financially and emotionally stable life for us with private schooling etc., and I ended up going to an Ivy League university. I plan on doing the same. Only poor and irresponsible people have kids young.

Precisely my point. I won’t be ready to be the best parent I can be until I’m living the kind of life where going to 4chan isn’t a part of my daily repertoire. It would be irresponsible of me to have kids now.

You're never ready to be a parent until you become a parent

But you can still set yourself up for success. Your statement cant be universally true for a 25 year old and a 35 year old. Of course there are outliers, but most people would be far more emotionally prepared to be good parents at 35 vs 25.

What I'm saying is that when you become a parent a switch flips inside you. The transition can be as easy or as difficult as you can imagine, but if you're not a complete piece of shit it happens all the same. It gets your ducks in a row and gives you a more concrete perspective on life. I often wish I had kids earlier for the sole reason that it would have been harder. Being around for more of their life is also a plus.

There is no amount of 'emotional preparedness' (lol) which makes one ready for an autistic child caused by old eggs.
