So many people don’t realize how bad the second situation can be. I’ve been doing this sales engineer back office position for years, work from home even before it was common, ok money, but I do nothing. It has driven me absolutely insane. Excepting the random busy day, I spend most of my day reading, walking around town, talking on the phone, edging (yes), or getting stoned. My boss just quit last week after a decade plus and they’re gonna catch on soon I’m doing fuck all. I need to either take the next step or fuck off and find another job. Problem is I get paid absolutely DICK for the things I do.
I'm a manager and I make 45k a fucking year. In the tri state area. That's literally poverty level up here. Yet these fucking niggers in my corporate company think they're doing me a favor by paying me this.

Working to survive and generating currency are VERY VERY VERY different. The fact that so many people have the 2 conflated is very telling


Imagine i had an item that i claimed is valuable despie it being worthless, and made you give me all your gold and in exchange i give you this item. I also control at will the value and supply of the item. Meaning you have to work exponentially harder for a item that is constantly losing value.

And due to me always inflating away the value, you have to work longer and longer hours, go more and more in debt to pay off loans for longer and longer period of times.

Versus

You go out with your gun and bow, kill and animal, process it, preserve it. You go out and turn over your soil, plant seeds you bartered for, tend it, harvest it. You sustainably build a adequately sized domicile nothing more nothing less...for free except your sweat.

I really liked my coworkers at my old wagie retail job,
and the actual work of driving forklifts, loading heavy shit, lifting heavy shit etc. was honestly kinda satisfying at times. The only thing that sucks is the pay and dealing with faggot obnoxious customers and managers. Also, we had a lot of coffee and people were constantly bringing in food for everybody too, mostly donuts and chicken biscuits in the mornings, so that was kinda nice.
