I have some contacts with an insider, one who knows Dom and especially Jan very well. The reason for Andreas Rossberg isn't as innocuous as they pretend it is. There is a major, a truly MAJOR systemic fault in the IC Protocol, which recently has come under Dfinity's main engineers attention. It's a protocol breaking fault if not fixed. The team has been searching for a solution for months now, but there doesn't seem to be any. Once word gets out, the project will be completely dead. Andreas left, both because of his feelings of guilt (being a big contributor to the protocol) and his dissatisfaction with the lack of communication on Dfinity's end. This is also the reason major VC's have sold, and are still in the process of selling their stake. They expressed their diminishing trust in the team and protocol during the hackathon already.
I would not risk holding this asset, and I hope this information reaches the right audience. Sorry pissbros, I wish it wasn't true since I liked the project.

I cannot disclose that information, partly because I still have some sliver of hope they find a solution even though it's highly unlikely by now. But the main reason is that it's highly technical and requires a PhD level of cryptographic and cryptoeconomic understanding. It has to do with collusion among boundary nodes using ICP's main code architecture to bypass previous security walls.

Like I stated earlier, boundary nodes have always been of the utmost concern among the engineers and devs. So naturally it has come up in the forums. However, this is a separate issue, one which hasn't been brought up in the forum. I was never worried about the boundary node attack vector as there were always possible solutions available. This particular problem is different, with no solution in sight and no communication on Dfinity's side.
I've been following Dfinity for years and genuinely saw it as THE blockchain solution next to ETH. This honestly breaks my heart and I still hope they find a fix, but I can't be delusional when a lot of money is involved.
