In case the engineer who designed the control system for these bikes is here and somebody who isn't the goddamned feds reads this let me tell you in engineering terms why your bike is so miserable to ride.

Normally a bike is a very analog and natural experience. Like walking, running or swimming the bike is not a stable system without human input. The human closes the control loop and manages to balance the bike by moving forward and keeping the wheels in motion. Many bikes offer gearing sets to extend the range of comfortable power outputs (or rpm torque combos) that the human can use to drive the bike.

The human even if they have no gears, can choose to pedal as hard as they want to go faster or as slow as they want (down to the edge of where the bike is stable and remains upright.

By using your single step on off control system you not only remove the comfortable and natural feeling limits that a bike rider expects from a completely manual bike (going slow or going fast both trigger regen breaking and force the bike to go unstable should the human choose to go too fast or slow) But you also destroy the analog control the biker had within the intended speed range. The biker now has very little control over how much power goes to the wheels, they only have a very awkward "on/off" control.

Imagine driving a car with a light switch, but to make it worse, the light switch is not a traditional switch, it is a wheel that needs to be spun above a factory defined minimum rpm, and that shuts off if it goes beyond a factory defined maximum. To make things even worse, this car doesn't have a "no gas no brakes" option. As soon as the proverbial light switch is turned off and the car quits accelerating the breaks are hit hard.

This jackknife power output is a very unnatural feeling for the rider/pilot/driver. Likely decreases the reliability of the machine and is also going to be pretty inefficient in terms of energy usage.
