Thread dedicate to TCG speculation and investing. I am currently stacking WOTC Pokemon 1st edition slabs and am unironically looking to delve into Metazoo. I bought a pack for fun at the LGS and am enamored by the artwork. The gameplay looks fun as well.

not bad, i bought a PSA grade 9 Charizard recently, freshly sealed.

also an original sealed box worth around $30,000

the longer time goes on, the more expensive it gets

I wish TCG generals would be a thing on biz, that would be fun. Anyway I'm buying some MtG complete sets from 1998-2002, I think they're still very undervalued. Most sets top expensive card is around 15 bucks. Plus since I like the cards I'll be fine if they go to 0.

is it a good idea to buy new cards?

I went to the YGO Philly regional (my first) and I regret not buying 6 Prismatic Diviner @7 each, they're gonna be $11+ soon

14 tins

6 Ash
1 Ogre
1 Belle
1 Dragoon
1 BEWD
1 REBD

Not bad. Got 2 Baronne for 2 Tearlaments field spells plus some jank.

I'd invest in lego sets honestly.

Best thing my mother has gotten into. All her boomer bux go towards trips (glad shes happy and doing stuff) and lego. And I mean ALL the high-tier lego sets. She keeps boxes and all instructions. When she's done building she breaks them down and puts them in nice thick ziplock bags and even numbers them according to the instruction booklets. I've told all my siblings they can have everything else. I only want the lego. Going on 15 years collecting like that.

invest in MTG mana base.
alpha dual lands
onslaught fetch lands
ravnica shock lands
you can do well speculating if you know the formats, i bought hundreds of shadow of doubts for a nickel apiece and flipped them for $2.00 each, my best trade ever. i was playing a lot of mtg and was a step ahead of the modern meta at the time.
commander is a popular format and is the biggest driver for prices today.

Unironically seems too slow and doesn't have enough protection for modern.
