Can you make money betting on esports? The odds seem pretty good and I hear its way easier to beat the bookies than in real sports. It's also pretty consistent (in tier 1-1.5 not clusterfuck chinese tier 4 teams)

This is an interesting idea. Traditional pro sports teams are all studied to hell and back so the bookie rates don't leave much wiggle room. But since esports is still growing SO quickly there is a (relatively) lot of wiggle room. It is also hard/impossible to regulate/restrict since you can gamble on CSgo games with digital currency including in-game items that still have real value so I don't really see how this potential income stream going away....

The only 'downside' is that you must spend at least a little (more likely a lot) time to play/know the Game you want to gamble on and follow the pro scene until you know what the fuck is going on.

i'm addicted to cs go match betting and even though i'm down ~$50k over the past year i don't regret it one bit cause it's fun. my guess is that you'd probably be able to make money if you'd only bet on the underdogs cause upsets happen all the time and the odds are always screwed towards the OG teams like navi, c9 or heroic.
on the other hand the casinos take a huge cut on math betting (odds are like 1.85/1.9) so in the long run i couldn't imagine making consistent returns with these cuts.
