Yes! Things are better than ever! Prices are going up because there is just WAY too much opportunity out there. We need to raise interest rates to actually try to control how great things are haha. It's incredible how great things are right now. The only things we need to worry about are Putin and his war of aggression in the Ukraine and the issues created by Donald Trump such as making abortion illegal and other erosions of our civil liberties. But besides that, things are great. If you aren't participating in the prosperity it's because you're a lazy white male or an oppressed BIPOC.

After looking for jobs globally (including my native land) via internet for two years with no success, I just had to come back to my hometown, make two phonecalls and bang I start October first on a agTech startup.

I did have a few interviews and processes in the way, so the number games still may bring you success.

Brother, you wouldn't believe some of the shit I've had to deal with. At this point it'd probably be easier to hire some kid out of school and train them for a few years into a senior. There are people with decades of experience but who haven't learned anything in the past decade. Never used a load balancer, or a firewall, or a container. Don't know what DNS is. Can't debug their way out of a box. Who deploy shit straight into Production with no testing or communication to anyone. Who paid hundreds of dollars for AWS certs and cite terminology but don't understand WHY we'd use those tools in the first place. It's a nightmare. We've given raises to at least 10% of the company just to keep them from leaving because hiring is that bad right now.
Personally, I've been getting FAANG recruitment emails every week for the past three months, so I know it's not just us.

not anymore. they can't hire wagies to work $15/hr but still have to pay them $15/hr, meaning they'll lay off half their staff and basically if you're still working, you'll be performing double duty at work, so that $15/hr means you're really making $7.50/hr working 2 jobs at once like a dog slave

Yes, there is currently a shortage of cattle. The job market is finally going back to normal after 14 years of being dystopia tier, but the people in charge don't want to accept that so there cry about a "labor shortage" when really the only thing happening is things going back to normal.

About a month ago I finally got a call from a bank I applied to about a month and a half before that; they asked me if I was still interested and then three weeks yesterday I did a 2 on 1 video interview with two local branch managers that seemed to go REALLY well. One of the branch managers even asked me what my salary expectations are and I gave a very reasonable response.

Now I've heard nothing from anyone there. I sent out two emails a week apart to follow up: no reply, nothing. Even during the interview they were saying that they're really looking for more people, but I think I've just been straight up ghosted. I've interviewed a bunch of places (mostly low level stuff, not to be the CEO of Amazon or anything) and all I hear is that everyone is desperate for employees, but I either get no replies or ghosted lmao.

I started my new job 2 months ago. I'm still getting first communication emails from jobs I applied for 3-10 months ago. If they include a calendar invite for an interview time I select one and ghost them. Wasting some of their time is the least I can do after they took long enough for a baby to be born to get back to me, especially since half of them tagged their job as urgently hiring. Fuck every HR roastie and middle manager boomer whining about how nobody wants to work and they can't find any good employees.

I applied for like 30 in Zürich and got rejected by all, except UBS. Still we're only at the first meeting.

you should waste more of their time by being a retard intead of a noshow. like send a request to do the interview by videochat, if they deny then whatever just ghost them but if they accept then just do a casual video chat while you are playing video games or preoccupied at work. when they start the interview with questions answer a couple casually then ask them to hang on while you do some shit like talk to a coworker or brew some coffee or microwave some popcorn, just string them along and waste as much time as possible. it might even backfire and you end up with a $250,000/yr managerial position offer
