Pipelines from Norway, Africa, LNG terminals for gas from US or anywhere in the world. They can also start fracking if them want for long term independence, I don't know euro politics that well, whether if there were forced to if they'd go with fracking or building more nuclear if they had to. >Europe will have other gas sources too.
Other sources will mean Africa or North America. African gas will require billions if not tens of billions in investment to create the infrastructure needed to get gas to Europe in pipelines. North American gas will need to be converted to LNG, which entails a loss of fuel efficiency compared to normal natural gas. Plus it then has to be transported on specialized LNG tankers, of which there are only a limited number in the world amd very few shipyards with the capacity to produce more. I doubt Europe will be off Russian gas entirely ever, and certainly can't replace it as the main supplier for the next 10 years or so unless they want to totally sacrifice their industry in the meantime.

Lend Lease hasn't actually started yet. Most of what Ukraine has been given from the West is Cold War/Post Cold War tech, a lot of it old Soviet surplus from former WSP states because Ukraine has actual infrastructure for that sort of thing. Pic related is one of the HARM missiles from the U.S. that the Ukes were using to blow up/suppress Russian AA radar; it's warranty expired in '91.
The most modern equipment Ukraine has received from NATO are anti-tank missiles and rocket artillery. Most everything else is mothballed Soviet equipment or older surplus from the post Cold War. Exception for the Turkish drones whose name I forget how to spell, but I think those were purchased by Ukraine directly.

So far, yeah.
Idk what PPI does but don`t be mislead this is not the actual inflation number.

The usually cheapest 400g pack of cheese at the supermarket increased from (used to be 2021) 2€ to 2.70€ now.
That`s one of the higher increases. Some items didn`t have any increse in price. It did get harder overall, but not really substantially.

Welfare is being increased from 450€ / person to 500€ / person (that is after rent+ heating payments, have to pay food, clothing, electricity and most other stuff from that)
(50€ less if you live together with a partner)

Energy - Where it last spring, yes. Now.... Most stocks already priced in the extra gains of this winter. So, rather not.
Defensive consumer staples - Maybe?

But the car companies you listed are getting brutalized.
- Higher production costs, via high energy costs.
- Electric push from Chinese manufacturers. (Repeat of the 70s Japanese car boom. Just with the Chinese. Check it out. It was a massacre for the old manufacturers.)

I expect all three car manufacturers you have listed, to ask for a lot of government money during next year. (They will call it "investment", instead of "bailout".)

- Production costs spike >> very bad for industry
- Living costs spike >> very bad for everyone
>>> Super bad combination. I did bet money on a major market crash this autumn and winter. Think 2008 or the great recession.

What can be done?
Many solutions exist.
- All 'good' solutions take time >> bad
- More expensive than the Russian gas. >> bad

Next year will be much better, but still bad. We in Europe will mostly be realing from the economic crash. That will have bad knock on effects.

2+ years
Mid term, we will deal. Energy will be more expensive, but still much cheaper than right now.

8+ years.
Long term
- Europe goes all in on renewables. It's the only stuff that will not run out. It gets CHEAPER the more is built (check the production cost decline of solar panels and wind power.) >> Wins hands down.
- Russia acts as after the Chechenia war. As in, back to finding buyers and looking like a 'trustworthy' trade partner. Many will bite.
- People forget about this. (Just ask about 2008 or the Iraq war or the dot-com bubble or the fall of the Soviet-Union. Few give a shit anymore. Humans are bad at remembering details and lessons.)

But BUILDING nuclear is SLOW. We are talking almost a decade for a new power plant IF your country is open to building more.

Keep crying idiots. I'm 28 and live in an apartment I own. Yes gas is expensive. Now what? Acting like civil war is around thze corner is so fucking delusional, touch grass for once incels. I pay 80€ a month more than last year right now. Guess what, It could double and double again and again without affecting me in the slightest.
I have a pretty regular job and still can save 60% of my income as I'm not a consoomer and not a retard like the vast majority of people here most likely including both of you. My family is fine. My friends are fine. The supermarket shelves are full. My basement is prepped and has been for years. Last winter I barely hat to wear a fucking coat, let alone heat my flat. Fuck a woman for once you crybaby idiots. I wish the factory you low iq mongos do assembly-line work would shut down because of the energy bills but I know it won't happen anyways, good for you kek.

I have my DAX short open aswell, since DAX was at 13650 points. let it run at least to 11k.

You are beyond hope if you think eightfold energy costs are sustainable for even a short amount of time. Both people and companies face utter financial collapse. People will lose their homes, which is sad enough as it is, but companies will truly stop existing, which is not easily reversable.
Let me give you an example, as you probably dont get it by now. Take a producing company, making small parts out of metall. Thats an energy intensive production cycle, and they wont be internationaly competitive with those energy costs. So they close down, putting ~1000 people out of work. Fast forward a year, energy costs are back to normal (as if). Will the company be recreated and hire those 1000 worker again? No, the capital is gone, buildings and equipment will have been sold, and most importantly, customers will have moved to other suppliers. The company is lost forever, and if you think its easy to restart industrial areas please take a look at detroit.
Those effects may not be felt by you directly, but you will see it in the streets, in your town, in the people aroud you.
So get your head out of your ass and realize what this means for the society you seem to live in, your idea of 'not a big deal and not my problem' is ridiculously childish.
