What i would do is market the car size ants to "eco-friendly", kill the car market, kill the gas/oil market, sell militarize ant cars (as they were design to do) and always keep the customer buying dying ants. Do not give them ants that live longer for 12 years that's not a good idea.

I don't know if you guys are joking or not, but ants can't get larger than about 2 cm because they have a completely passive breathing system, basically just 18 or 20 holes in their body where air enters freely. Larger insects sometimes have a way to "flex" their bodies to "suck" more air (and larger animals like humans have special muscles like a diaphragm to pump air into our lungs), but ants don't have that. As a result the amount of oxygen they get is very small. If an ant was to get twice as big, its "skin" surface area (which limits how much oxygen they get) would get 4x larger, but their body volume (which dictated how much oxygen they need) would get x8 larger. So unfortunately ants don't scale. There was a period in the history of Earth when atmosphere was much richer in oxygen and there were probably ants back then that were like 10cm long, but with our current atmostphere that's not possible.
