You don't understand that that doesn't matter. CL is achieving market dominance. Every new feature release of CL becomes industry standard which means it becomes more intertwined with the very idea of blockchains and Web3.0. This means that it 100% will scale with blockchains and Web3.0. The more features it releases, the more it's adopted, then the "blockchain" : "LINK" ratio approaches 1. We're going to the moon.

DId you not understand what I just said? CL is becoming increasingly ubiquitous in the blockchain/Web3.0 space. It's approaching a 1:1 scaling ratio; as Web3.0 increases in value so will CL. I don't think you've spent enough time thinking it through. You still think crypto is an asset that's competing with other asset classes. Instead it's a completely new financial system where things like centralized currencies will be irrelevant. This also means that Chainlink's utility (and thus value) will platou at some point in the future and then start going down, because more systems and institutions will be already fully decentralized, thus not needing oracles. That's why I believe LINK will reach it's maximum mcap share at around ~50% and then start going back to zero. Time scale probably peak in 10-15 years

Do you realize money is a social construct, it is in use because we have agreed to it. Programmable money (i.e. crypto) is objectively better than our "current" money as basis for the whole financial system. It's objectively better, meaning it's more efficient, which in plain English means: transferring value via crypto will be "cheaper" than via traditional financial institutions.

It's not the money that will come, it's just that people will use "money" less and less and eventually "money" will be irrelevant

If it's objectively better in every way, as in the old system has absolutely no advantages over the new one, then of course it's inevitable that the second system will replace the first one! The whole economic system as far as we can tell can be explained ("solved") by game theory. Core assumption of game theory is that the player is rational, for the "better" system not to dominate, majority of players (people participating in an economic system) would need to act irrationally, against their own interest. BTW when I say it'll "replace" the old system, I mean: leave it like maybe 5% of the market, take everything else. What coal did to wood as fuel. What gas did to coal. What mobile phones did to landlines. What CDs did to vinyl.

The defi loan won't be UNcollateralized, it'll be UNDERcollateralized, unlike current ones that need to be OVERcollaretalized. You'll still be locking crypto on the defi platform, it's just that a bit less because they'd also assess your risk of defaulting based on off-chain factors like your credit score, money in the bank etc. So if you walk away without repaying you'll lose your crypto and that's all, you may still come out richer, but that's the risk the lender is gonna accept after assessing it with your off-chain data. Does that make sense? Sorry I'm so tired

>> No.51471952

Damn can't find the screengrabs about this, I'm too tired to type up a ~2000 word explanation, but in short the existing financial (and other) systems are based on trust, decentralized systems using decentralized oracles are "truth machines". Truth always beats trust. The more people and value are transferred from the old systems (finance, trade, derivatives, insurance) into decentralized ones, the less there is need for Oracles to "sync" data between those two worlds (on- and off-chain)...

So your thesis is that eventually everything will be tokenised and all data will already be "on-chain"? I think there's always going to be some raw data off-chain, hence (foreseeably) always a need for oracles. Further, even if everything was decentralised and on-chain there woyld still be a need for CCIP and VRF.
I don't disagree that eventually Chainlink might be made obsolete by some technological innovation, and I think 10-15 years is possible, but I disagree with your reasoning.

>Further, even if everything was decentralised and on-chain there woyld still be a need for CCIP and VRF.

There will be a bigger need for oracles as more people onboard data to decentralized ones. What chain could possibly service EVERY transaction? It's an impossible scaling problem. More than likely people will be using L2s and other chains specific for each type of transaction which means cross chain communication is going to be highly in demand. And chainlink has that on lock.

Our current reality is so different than what the future could be, that all this talk about adoption and captured value seems like a day dream.
The thing that keeps me believing is how the little amount of info that CL puts out all points to them being on track to make all this actually happen relatively soon.

I keep telling myself that if the price doesn’t start reflecting the progress made by CL in the next couple years, I’ll just admit that I was wrong about Link and move on.

Kyzikos
>After the departure of the Argonauts in Lemnos, they landed in the island of the Doliones[5] of whom Cyzicus was the king. He welcomed the Argonauts on their journey to Colchis and received them with generous hospitality. But after their departure, a storm drove them back to the Cyzicene coast at night. With neither the Argonauts nor King Cyzicus recognizing one another, each mistook the other as an enemy and battle ensued. The Doliones thought they were Pelasgian army who constantly harassed them.

>The enemy have seized the harbour, our hold foes the Pelasgians have returned!” Men’s rest was broken; the god Pan had driven the doubting city distraught, Pan fulfilling the cruel commands of the Mygdonian Mother [i.e. Cybele], Pan lord of the woodlands and of war, whom from the daylight hours caverns shelter; about midnight in lonely places are seen that hairy flank and the soughing leafage on his fierce brow.
>The Argonauts slew many of the Dolionians, among the rest was King Cyzicus who was himself killed either by Jason or Heracles. The incident had been arranged by the gods Cybele, Pan and Bellona because Cybele wanted revenge against the king for killing one of her lions.[6] Valerius Flaccus recounts this account in the following passage:

>As Cyzicus upon his swift horse shook Dindymus where votaries revel with bloodstained arms, and wearied the woods, he was betrayed by his too great love of the chase; for with his javelin he slew a lion that was wont to bear its mistress [i.e. Cybele] through the cities of Phrygia and was now returning to the bridle. And now (Madman!) hath he hung from his doorposts the mane and the head of his victim, a spoil to bring sorrow to himself and shame upon the goddess. But she, nursing her great rage, beholds from the cymbal-clashing mountain the ship with its border of kingly shields, and devises against the hero deaths and horrors unheard of: how in the night to set allied hands at strife in unnatural war, how to enmesh the city in cruel error.
When day broke, the Argonauts realized their tragic mistake, and granted Cyzicus an elaborate burial.[7][8][9]

>They [i.e. Argonauts] lamented for three days and tore out their hair; they raised a mound over the grave, marched round it thrice in armour, performed funeral rites, and celebrated games in honour of the dead man. The mound was to be seen down to later days, and the people of Cyzicus continued to pour libations at it every year.
After the burial, the Argonauts handed over the kingdom to Cyzicus's sons,[2] then sailed away and touched at Mysia. King Cyzicus left behind his young bride Cleite, who hung herself after her husband's tragic death.

>Regardless of what they are specifically, it is clear that the swastika is symbolising some form of ‘life-giving’ quality. In the third interpretation, it might be that the Swastika is being used as a symbol of Demeter’s association with grains and the fertility of the earth, and her powers of regenerating land. It might be an assurance that despite the land being infertile at the moment, Demeter will regenerate the land.

its all starting to come together, in the most schizoid way possible. The swastika was Demeter's promise to her followers to regenerate the land and provide rebirth and good harvest. The same symbol (in the form of healthy vegetation) is the symbol of the website where chainlink was first discovered. Is it all intentional? Fate? Is Ari really a Hierarch of Demeter and we are unwitting initiates?

>TRIPTOLEMOS (Triptolemus) was a demi-god of the Eleusinian mysteries who presided over the sowing of grain-seed and the milling of wheat. He was one of the Eleusinian princes who hospitably received the goddess Demeter when she was mourning the loss of her daughter.

You still don't get it. Crypto is a speculative asset right now because it has no utility. Chainlink brings in the utility, making all the wild use cases for smart contracts actually viable. This will cause a revolution that's hard to even imagine right now, whole industries will move from being centralized, trust based systems to truly decentralized, smart-contract powered ones. The point is this: think about assets in general, all types - current, non-current, the way they're traded, what their value is based on etc. Almost all of this shit is currently based on some shady accounting books, checking accounts, legal agreements, invoices etc. And it's all propped up by a very inefficient, corrupt, error-prone legal system. The point is this: in 20 years, 90% of actual value of those assets will live on-chain. Some people were laughing at NFTs and for good reason, in their current form it's just a stupid gimmick. But those with foresight understood what the potential of this technology is. I know it's hard to imagine, but it's inevitable.

I understand you're skeptical, but please do me a favor and read this:

I don't think a few years is a long time to wait to go from relatively nothing to being very wealthy.
Doesn't bother me to wait, even if it were to take another 5 years, which it won't.
If you haven't the patience you should sell any tokens you have and go away. The rest of us don't care about you, or your greediness.

>LINK will reach it's maximum mcap share at around ~50%
Won't happen unless total crypto mcap is very low. Only coins that can reach that 50% are the ones that will function as an eSDR such as XRP and XLM. Its actually better for LINK if something like an eSDR takes the top spot as it will drastically increase the total mcap of crypto and the trickle down value would be worth way more to LINK
