Try out life with 250$ per month more than you spend normally.
Like take a loan from a friend or family.
And spend those $3K during one year period.
See where it went and if you did something for yourself in the long run.

I have 0 retirement strategy or investment.
But I am also not in debt and during twenties I couldn't care less, but in thirties it kinda starts looming over your head.
I bet that when I hit forties it will bring anxiety that will be even worse.
