My wife is pregnant with our first child who will be born before the end of the year. What tax-advantaged/other investment routes are available for him? So far I know about 529 plans and custodial investment accounts up to the kiddie tax. Is there any other investment avenues?

Why are you trying to sell your child?

congrats anon that is a very special time in your life. enjoy it.

naturally your mind is swimming with that new-father energy and ideas. treat 529 contributions like crypto and invest only what you can afford to lose because you'll never see that money again. best case scenario is you'll use it to pay and help perpetuate our retarded university system. I contribute like $50 a month per kid just so I am contributing something but i prioritize maxxing out my other tax-advantaged accounts. i'd rather have too little in the 529 and have to pull money from elsewhere than too much money so i cant use it all without incurring penalties.

Very special. Too bad your wife will cheat on you, gets blacked and leaves taking both your investments + your child with her. Then she will say you were the bad guy and your child grows up hating you.

Also your child WILL have ADHD
Your child WILL be autist
Your child WILL be mommy's precious little boy
YOU ARE DONE. DONE.

You can find good women anons. They are hard to find, but don't give up.

Thanks. Yeah, who knows if universities will even be around. I've already maxed out all other tax-advantaged accounts, and since 529 has no contribution limits, I won't be as aggressive there. As far as child's investments, doesn't seem like there's a lot to do. Huh, I wonder if I can give my child an 401k/IRA. I'd have to "hire" my newborn for a "job". Maybe set up an LLC for "baby modelling?" Anything to squirrel away more money from the tax man, but I guess I'd have to pay the tax for hiring my own child. Seems like a lot of work and grey legal area just to get 15% off long term capital gains... and if I just don't realize the gains, my son could realize them in the 0% long term bracket after turning 18 until he gets a job over 60k. That's probably my plan then.
