I worked with a guy who's uncle was the boss, one day he broke something and his uncle called him "a big clumsy useless piece of shit, fucking waste of time" amongst other things during a five minute rant and then left. The guy cried for a few minutes afterwards saying he was gonna quit because he's been doing the job 6 years and hes never gonna be any good at it. Literally within the hour he'd forgotten about the whole thing and was chatting and joking as cheery as ever.. I've never worked with anyone as numb to put downs as that guy, he was an inspiration. He didn't get sacked though and ended up leaving years later and at one point his uncle went to his new job on his hands and knees and asked him to name his price
