Is there any news on RVN? I tried looking around and all I could find was a minor update to their wallet software or something.

I guess I should have actually gone through with mining a little RVN here and there on my desktop like I'd thought to do. Still, the RVN environment has been so stagnant that I kinda figured it was a dead-end.

You think the miners getting involved means better longterm prospects for the coin or chain? It's still only at 1/5th it's ATH.

As an ex-miner it's absolutely a speculative pump before the merge.
KAPOW algorithm is absolutely garbage.
1. it uses around 20-30% more electricity than ethash and other derivatives like Flux or Erg which are memory intensive. Moreover, it runs at least 7-10 degrees hotter meaning that you which wears down fans faster, etc. - operating costs are higher no matter how you slice it.
2.it's a literal bitcoin clone and there are a thousand other similar projects
3.slow development if any and tiny community - it will take a lot for it to become mainstream.

Nr.1 is the most important as it will need to do a grow way more than other coins in order to be profitable for miners. Right now all POW coins are receiving a boost but i can guarantee you that RVN is as good as dead, no one will cook their cards when ETC, Flux and Erg exist, especially now that energy prices are soaring.
