CUT LOSSES EARLY
LET WINNERS RIDE
It is so goddam simple and yet all you people are fucking it up. It is AMAZING. You make your trade, you gain/lose money, then move onto the next one. You are the price pimp and the stock tickers are your hoes. You do not treat your hoes with any respect. You do not acknowledge your hoes other than to give you money. You do not become attached to your hoes and drop them the second they talk back to you. Go watch hustle and flow, take a field trip to the hood, then open up your charts in like a week and get back at it.

You have to take /smg/ for memes. Trading is a losing game in the long run. Let go of the fact you can make money swing trading or day trading.
You might find the odd meme stock that will pnd like GME on here but thats like once a year maybe.

Here's a thought experiment; hundreds of equity mutual funds, hedge funds, other funds who's goal is to deliver alpha fail to do so at an alarming rate(80% of mutual funds cant beat the market-given a 10-15+yr time frame. The data is worse the longer the time frame. These funds that have teams of pro's that research, buy/sell, analyze etc barely can.

So, I have been trying to find some decent plays all weekend. Profitable companies that have been beaten down
>STNE
For the third quarter, Stone expects to continue expand revenue and profitability:

Total revenue should exceed R$ 2.4 billion, with a growth of over 63% year over year;

MSMB TPV should continue to grow and remain between R$ 73 and R$ 74 billion;

Adjusted EBT (earnings before taxes) is expected to exceed R$ 125 million, against R$ 107 million in the second quarter.

>NU - Brazil bank/crypto -Buffet backed
Nu increased its revenue 230% year on year to nearly $1.2 billion after neutralizing the impact of foreign currency exchanges -- a record-high quarterly revenue. Management attributes this growth to the compounding effect in two areas: the growing number of monthly active customers, and rising product upsell and cross-sell levels. So the ability to sell multiple products to existing customers ultimately drives the company's blazing-hot, triple-digit revenue growth.

Dont quit until the cash it out and in the bank. Its brutally hard to have to force yourself to come back to work. But this last dump hit hard. I was close to being able to quit and now basically at 0 again. Wasted my 20s basically and as im turning 30 it was pretty awful to think my entire 20s was pointless and a failure. Time lost.

The railroads will have to work it out with the Teamsters and the other unions. Look for the Child Molester administration to interfere and dick shit up, because even someone there will realize what a problem it is. Rail is absolutely vital to multiple sectors. Most of the headlines will probably go to car manufacturers, who are already dealing with the chip nonsense. A company like F has cars moving by rail all over North America, sometimes from Mexico to Canada and back into the States if you can believe it.

I like fast refresh rates so I can see the bars clearer, but a 4K 144hz monitor is so expensive. Also which companies are public that make monitor panels? There is no moving on. Once you've tasted the potential gains, there's no getting out. Your life has already been forever altered.
One thing you can do is look away for awhile, forget about your portfolio, and accept your current loss. Although, as you work and save money you'll eventually build a big enough pile that you'll feel the need to hop back in. In the meantime, perhaps those forgotten losers you're bagholding will have recovered some of the losses.

But again, there is no moving on. Whether you want to or not, you'll be back someday.

Options just give you additional ways to express that non-retardation, imo. LEAPS to get more leverage than shares, calls or puts when you realize time sensitive information that isn't priced in, straddles and strangles for wild catalysts or crabbing you expect, all that shit.

Your pic isn't 100% right though. If all the obvious macro alpha were harvested, the entire COVID crash would've been in December 2019 or January 2020 because nothing changed w/r/t the disease or its course between then and March when the crash did wrap up. More recently, SIGA would've mooned (and dumped) faster in a world with perfect information processing. And likely in a few years we'll our scratch our heads why treasury bond yields took so long to price in QT and default risk.

SIGA sissies and monkepox fudders - I was looking over the CDC's data on testing and I think I found something significant.
The WHO and CDC have been claiming that monkeypoop cases are trending downward, reversing the months-long trend of increasing cases.
However this seems to correlate with a HUGE decrease in the # of tests being administered. At the end of August they were doing about 18,000 tests per week, now it's down to 2,000 tests per week. That's almost a 90% decrease in testing. At the same time the test positivity rate has stayed basically constant at around 20%. This suggests that they'd be finding and reporting FAR MORE cases if they were testing at the same rate as before...
Am I looking at this data wrong? Are my conclusions off base here? It seems like they're lying with statistics to justify the narrative of a downward trend

Yes. Suppose it actually *were* dying down, what would you see? A balanced drop in # of cases and a drop in the # of tests.

Now if tests were being rolled out to be easier, with media hype/fear injected into the population, the positivity rate would decline as paranoid people test every rash they ever get.

Conversely, if They were covering things up while the virus...went ape, with people forgetting about it, doctors told not to test unless they're absolutely sure, etc, then you'd see a lot more positive results from remaining (very reluctant) testees. That is, the positivity rate would be increasing.

This is one of the best things about the expat/digital nomad life. In places where white people are a tiny minority, even dumb libs get extremely tribal and brotherly (not that many libs are expats, much better Overton window). You will make the best kind of friends: a very small number of absolute bros who always answer the phone, always want you to chill with them, and don't care at all about the tiny differences that push white people away from each other in denser populations. My best friend is the opposite of me, a big dumb gym bro with three kids out of wedlock. I am closer with him than I've ever been with any other friend. It's a totally different dynamic when you and your friends really NEED each other instead of just having hobbies in common.

39 years old. Now to be honest I could fully retire from my job at the nice age of 48 without taking any sort of hit financially. However if I stick around a few years longer and walk at age 54 then my benefits would be even fatter. Why cap it at 54?. Well max benefits for one. For another anything past 32 yrs (actually 31 due to uh sick time credit applied) your essentially paying them to show up daily.. Also I couldn't do any other job and get paid what I do now by doing "nothing" to earn it along with the very low stress environment I'm exposed to.. I started there at a young age so yeah go me..

>I don't see how it's justified to decrease the rate of testing by 90% when there are clear indications that it's still spreading.
Except it's not a 90% drop in testing - the week of 9/10 has barely begun and it's still the weekend. Looking at the current case rate vs peak, I'd expect this week to end with about a 75% drop from highs.

I think your base scenario should be a general decline in rash-spreading close contact as pride orgies die down, gays are no longer on summer vacation, skin-to-skin contact at clubs is lessened, etc. This combines with a test that's also notoriously hard to get right (just swabbing a rash isn't foolproof, you need active pustules or some shit IIRC).

So let's say 40% of people tested have the pox, while 60% just have a generic rash (virus, allergy, whatever). Half the 40% come back positive and give you the 20% positivity rate. At best that means the "real" count is doubled, but the disease is still in terminal decline.

Lastly, you should realize that dividing by 80,000 is completely irrelevant because testing capacity isn't anywhere close to being maxed out. You can just say 18,098 tests are now 4,000 or whatever the total ends up being in a few days.

Put $10 in. Risked $5 on bet 1. Did two bets with $30 of $150 free credit. Cashed third bet spread for 10 so locked in profits. Won the other two bets. Giants by 1-13. Should have used all 150 when payout was $1500.

It’s to hook you. FanDuel hates ppl like me who immediately cash out but I degen options to get by so I know better than to not take a 28 bagger
