Tell me anon. You DO keepeth at least one tenth of your income for yourself and use the rest to keep you and your wife clothed and fed?

Just today I finished reading this.
Is anyone doing what it advises and are how are you doing so far?

10% is not nearly enough to keep for yourself assuming you're on a normal income, even saving $10k off $100k is far too slow. i'd go for at least 50%

I've never read this and never will, there's no way I'm doing what it advises and I never will because Babylon was a failed nation from many centuries ago, and the current economy is nothing like theirs was.
Stop paying for advice books and figure out your own personalized financial strategy

10% is just a suggestion.
Read between the lines anon.
The entire point of the book is to not be niggerbrained cattle that spend 100% of your income on consumerist nonsense and to actually commit to investing.
Invest more than 10% if you can afford it.

Biggest meme book ever.
Hyped up so much I thought it would be some sort of amazing knowledge.
Instead it's just very basic stories about wealth for absolute steaming retards.

It's quite modern, or timeless if you will. More personal economic philosophy and lessons on how to not be a broke nigger, nothing revolutionary, but should be required reading in schools.

The book didn't teach anything new, but it was a very pleasant read. It read easily and was entertaining at times. 10% is too low for this slave, so I'm saving as much as I can after food and wife expenses. Sometimes I even save too much.

The gimmick of setting the book in ancient Babylon is that the wisdom is timeless. Every bit of business advice in the book has a modern equivalent.
Having said that, It is very much a Beginner's investment book. It's like Rich Dad Poor Dad in that its good advice for people who dont think about money, but every one here is mostly past it.
It makes an excellent graduation gift for a niece of nephew.

It's just basic common sense lessons that deep down everyone knows yet most still don't follow. Still a good read since it's written in a way that'll hopefully make you internalize some of the lessons and actually follow them.

Did you actually read this book? The only part where a man is throwing himself completely into his work is when he's sold as a literal slave. He makes a point that he can either be a hyper industrious slave and get noticed for it and bought by someone that needs a trustworthy worker, or be worked to death with the others building a wall. And then when that owner sells him (because the owner is a degen gambler) he still almost dies working on the wall until another man buys him after recognizing him as that slave from a few months back that made a point to basically sell himself to the highest bidder by pointing out he was numerate, literate, and a diligent worker.

The message of that section is that even when economic conditions on the macro are sideways, it behooves you to keep working for yourself and to try and stay out of the crushing pleb-grinder.
