My dad is a "nobody" and had 3 10oz bars of sunshine silver bars, still in their vacuum sealed packaging.

He barely payed over spot because it's generic silver and not from a government sovereign.

He took it to a pawn shop for cash and got exactly spot for it, which is exactly how it should be. He didn't have to negotiate prices.

If I had to guess, you've never even bought pms, or tried selling them to a pawn shop. You're another moron shill.

You are out of the loop since before the scamdemic it seems fren.
Premiooms on silver never have been higher (tho in the US it's still acceptable compared to other countries). In the US they are around 30%, 40-50% in western EU, and 100-110% in most of the rest of the world (brazil, ecuador, romania,... whatever shithole you can think of).
Which is truly disgusting when you think about it. For example, silver in Mexico is far more expensive than in the US, even tho half of said silver is fucking mined in Mexico and imported in the US lol... Meanwhile the average US salary is what? x20 more than the average mexican?
So the mutt get not only to initially buy x20 more silver, but he also get a 50% discount on top of it, even tho he didn't produce it!
You can thank the rabbis at the Comex for these cheapies, and use it at your advantage, because it wont last for much longer.

Also sellers are getting ultra greedy. Sure they pay you back over spot, but not by much compared to the premiums they pocket in (they pay 2€ over spot here).

also industrial demand for gold would skyrocket if it wasn't a monetary metal. it is a flatly better alternative than lead and tin for most purposes, if gold was more abundant we'd use it for plumbing, foil, fixtures, electronics etc. because it's completely non-reactive, highly malleable, and conductive. the reason industrial demand is low is because it has always been prohibitively expensive thanks to near universal investment demand.

Money have 3 functions :
store of value, unit of account, and medium of exchange
To accomplish this, it needs to have the following characteristics :
durability, portability, fungibility, divisibility, uniformity, scarcity, acceptability and intrinsic value.

Only precious metals carry all those. Your food lack scarcity in most cases, and have zero durability. It's portability and divisibility is questionable too depending on the food.

Gold isn't nearly as bad but you can still get better returns elsewhere. The last couple years has proven that precious metals are absolute dogshit hedges against inflation, we've seen nearly 10% YoY inflation in 2022 alone, meanwhile gold is currently worth the same $1700/oz that it was a decade ago.

If most ppl dies, believe me you wont be able to have a working gold mine. Nor a working refiner, mint, assayer, etc...
Do you know how insanely long and complex is the production/logistical chain to transform a mountain rock into a gold coin? The numbers of acids and chemicals required alone would boggle your mind. They are using machines the size of 4 floors buildings you don't even know what they are used for.

Did you miss the whistleblower few months ago telling us how the BIS sent secret memos to all the major banks, ordering them to short the shit out of gold?
Did you miss that the past 2 years, more paper gold and silver derivatives have been emitted than in the past decades?

PMs aren't mooning because they ARENT allowed to. 243x more silver derivatives sold on the markets in 2021 than silver mined out of the ground. It's all a gigantic game of musical chair where the kikes are selling 300 times over what they have in their vaults.
But this neo-alchemical talmudic trick have it's limits : when ppl want to get their share of physical.
And it's well on it's way. Comex's vaults went from 150Moz in registered back in early 2021, down to 43Moz as of today. Bleeding now 770K oz every single day.
Once it's completely emptied, they will have to declare force majeur and settle the contracts' deliveries for cash. Then real price discovery will finally occur, and only one owner out of 300 will get their hand on the real stuff. Protip : this wont be the stupid goy with his blackrock's SLV share.

gold is a piss shit investment.

i bought like 2 gold bars, pamp suisse in plastic blister wrap.

well, when i eventually got bored with the lack of growth in value, i decided to take it to a bullion dealers, pawn shop in my city, guess what, they wanted to give me HALF the spot price. whats more they said they dont accept them in the blister wrap, so in order to sell i would need to break the packaging. they must have thought i was a retard. i walked out and put them on ebay and sold it to some knob in japan for spot, well (spot minus ebay fees and postage and paypal fees)

learned my lesson, never buying shitty gold bars again. the demand for it is confined to a very small group of people that can only find each other over the internet. and every "dealer" is just going to rape you on the price because they know every shop in town is doing the same price raping so they just rely on you not being able to wait for your money

Gold and silver are low margin for the shops but also low risk with a quick turnaround and profit. As someone who sold their precious metals to a brick and mortar jewelers in England not that long ago I can say from experience that I sold mine for 1% below spot. This was more about me building experience to find out how things go down when selling rather than profit. Royal Mint wanted to buy my stack for 4% below spot so selling it 1% below spot wasn't bad and I didn't have to send anything through the post meaning no additional postage costs. What I did learn from the exchange is that selling precious metals is all about bartering. I said I wanted spot, the guy offered 2% below, I said that wasn't good enough, he then offered 1% below and I said deal. I could have gotten above spot price with some premium if I could cut out the middle man as I have seen some examples of this happening from some Youtube stackers. Though I would have had to work much harder than them as they are in a much better position than me to get those barter deals due to them having a visible reputation of a trusted buyer and seller.

To be fair the collapse we're on the verge of isn't apocalyptic. It'll just be the greatest economic downturn in history. Industries will remain and so will the uses for PMs, while almost every other investment (real estate, cash, tech company stocks) will go down into the gutter. That's what PMs are for.

If it's not physical metal, then it's fake paper gold, no different from fiat currency. And I suppose that's what most people will buy, because of your reasons (not wanting to bother with the small gold premium) or the fact that their money is locked in their 401k and they don't want to deal with massive IRS tax penalties for early withdrawal. In effect, the majority of the population has their wealth (if you want to call it that, but it's just numbers in an account really) locked away so they can't be a threat to the banks. If a significant portion of the population said the hell with it and just put all their savings, or even a fraction of it like 25%, into silver and gold, then the banks would be in big trouble. For starters, there isn't even enough silver and gold to begin with, and a bunch of people would find themselves holding a worthless bag of fiat.

Also people kept BUYING gold even when that was made illegal. Americans would buy eurogold like 100 coronas, and south african krugerrands.

I am extremely certain that, after the collapse of many third world governments which will kill all but 500 million of the world population, we will return to the gold standard and keep it that way as a means to not fuck shit up again by making the world overpopulated and dysgenic, like we live today.

I'd only buy silver because I think it's neat that it's a better conductor than copper. Gold is pretty good too, but not quite as much as silver.

Of course you can't eat it (ditto with fuel, ammo, medicine, and other stuff people stack). But actually, gold is very easy to carry. A lot of people even wear it as jewelry. But the premium on those is much higher than coins. Of course there's nothing stopping you from buying some gold bars and making your own chain from it, or ring, or whatever. Otherwise you can carry coins pretty easily in tubes of 10, 20, or 25. Two tubes of 25 gold coins like these is worth about $90K and weighs just a little over 1.5 kg. You wouldn't be able to carry $90K of silver very far though, as that would weight about 140 kg.

There are ways to test for precious metal content. When the time comes more and more people will buy the equipment to do this.

I bought 1oz of gold a few months ago to see what's it about. It's impossible to sell.

I would gladly trade gold for dogecoin at this moment in time.

Gold is a boomer scam.

Lmao wtf gold is the most liquid physical asset there is aside from paper cash. Stick to the "jews will never let PMs moon" fud, these outright lies about how "it's ACTUALLY impossible to sell bullion and you only get 50% of spot!!!!" are pathetically bad shilling, you're actually making me consider buying more for the first time in months with how desperate you niggers are getting. I guess that really was the bottom for gold and silver.

Defi is definitely the future and would win over CEXs. I also found innovation in Sylo which ensures decentralized communication for users.
