For the love of god switch while you still can. ME is dead

No, it depends on what you want in life. Don’t buy into the demoralization about muh software. Do you want to grind leetcode tests for jobs? Do you want a bunch of other negative shit that internet larpers won’t talk about?
It’s a fine broad degree that can take you anywhere really and physics don’t really change.
Once you make enough money to be comfortable the happiness gains from money are negligible and you’d rather be at a job that you don’t hate

A lot of the developers are former EEs. Some are MEs. Some finance/stats. The biggest complaint about any xE is that you get tied to a job - for example a co-worker specialized in battery life calculation for phones - there is only a few companies that care and have departments for this, so you can't threaten to leave, etc.

SE probably WILL get over-satured. That's a long way of saying - know exactly what you will do when you graduate - what company you will apply for and what type of job. Do research now. Being unclear on that will land you in pic related: >>51323639

You fags are the smartest on this side of stats / med, so people do respect you with a ME, even if they don't admit it.

Don't study engineering if you're smart. Study finance and comfortably sit in the top 1% of students with no effort.

Nobody respects mechanical engineers, most young women think you repair cars for a living lmfao. It’s a low status, low paying career in 2022 and it was the worst decision of my life.

Most professionals know that ME is a difficult major, to the point where a C in ME and an A in finance are equivalent.

>It’s a low status, low paying career in 2022 and it was the worst decision of my life.

Re-qual into robotics. No, I am not joking.

Is chem engineering a meme? I'm a bio drop out working as a metallurgical analyst lab monkey thinking of becoming a metallurgist. Seems like they're in demand, get paid alright and do fuck all at least from my position. It's either that or I co back to my old job doing analytical chemistry but the pay and job prospects in that industry seems pretty shit tier and saturated with roasties

Just go with EE so you can do instrumentation you’ll land in the same field anyway with more options

Tuition isn’t due yet anon, withdraw and go into trades instead. I would have a lot more money now if I had done that instead of mech

Bruh, young strippers know what you are and what you are worth. Go have some fun.
