XRP and Ripple are two complete different things. The company Ripple uses the infrastructure for some of their products. Some even work without XRP. But yes, the network was initially meant to be used for bank transfers and still will be used for it mainly. But the superb blockchain is open to be used by everyone and every project. And you can build what you need. So yes, Ripple is a Banking Company and will always be. But XRPL is way more than that. The network is not limited to banks and their use cases. It’s like saying BTC is only for dealing weapons and buying drugs but you have some extra use cases as well.
