why do especially english or german speakers say "4 pm" or "four thirty" instead of using a known standardized foramt?

Because standardization is NWO globohomo antichrist nonsense to get you to conform. If you want everything to conform you're either an autist or an NPC who cannot be saved. Either way you are never going to make it.

Germans use the standard. Only zoomers are saying 4pm instead of 16:00

If the rest of the world loves the Metric system and BASE10 so much, why don't they use Metric time?
Why do they have autistic fits about inconsistent measurements like inches and miles while having zero problems converting minutes to hours to days and weeks?

I refuse to use the number system, it drives my coworkers insane.

because in most cases you're not interested in the year because it's obvious. you're mostly only interested in the day, which in many cases is enough if the event takes place in the same month, and otherwise you provide the month too. thus, DD-MM is the correct order, not whatever the amerikeks are doing.

Because 4am/pm is civilised and patrician. 00:40 is cringe.
