It's an interesting exercise. My preferred layout would be more tabular: show the costs and volumes in ancient units with a final column in modern units, and the modern entry at the bottom just wouldn't have the ancient values (unless you wanted to backtrack for fun). The conversion values/ratios could be in a technobabble side paragraph.
And the background is nice, but very busy. That adds to a confusion in reading the text with all the number juggling.

Got enough silver now, after this weekend's big haul. Think I'm going to stack krugerrands for gold. They're not really much more expensive than the el-cheapo trio (britannias, maples, kangaroos), and have the advantage of not needing to be in a capsule. Yeah since all my silver is capsuled or in tubes to avoid tarnish, I'd like to have gold I can fondle. Probably also grab a few other oddballs like mexican 50 pesos, and some of that old school eurogold. But yeah, krugerrands...

good morning sers, happy stacking.
how much cash do you think I should keep on hand for this winter? I notice my bank slowly but surely nuking all their physical stores and ATMs after deciding this year that I can pull money without cost only three times a month instead of as often as I need.
They also reduce the amount I can pull in a single go. If this is a trend, they might just be preparing for a bank run or something. I can withdraw money at the groceries store (Germany, we're fucked I know) but only up to 200 €uros.
I have accumulated 1900€s in cash as of now, my next money will go into weapons and canned food, already have 100 BIC lighters ready as well as 750oz of silver, 3oz of gold.
The reasoning behind that is if there's a bank run or they make it even harder to get your goddamn cash, the first poor people might just be fucked.

Dalton and Ford are both accurate, careful, readable translations.
Dalton goes for "straightforward" translations of key words. Ford tries to capture the nuance by choosing an appropriate word.

> Example 1 - Volkischer Beobachter
Dalton leaves it untranslated, and puts "Literally, "The People's Observer."" in a footnote.
Ford translates it as "Race Watcher".

> Example 2 - Jüdlein
Dalton (like all other translations) translates it as "little Jew".
Ford translates it as "Kike".

Ford wrote a whole book about why he chose the words he chose here http://www.hitler-library.org/Mein-Kampf-Translation-Controversy.pdf

See his justification for example 2
>This is an example of the only time Hitler used the derogatory word Jüdlein in Mein Kampf. It is the equivalent of Kike in English. Other instances used Judentum Juden or variations which are the equivalent of Jew or Jewish. Hitler also made a point of ending the sentence with this slur which was important to preserve his style. Murphy and Reynal changed the word order substantially. Notice how Murphy misunderstood and thought it meant little Jew and so did Reynal, however little Jew would have been kleiner Jude in German.

>Hitler avoided racist statements and racist words except for one exception in his entire book.

ALL other editions were done poorly, and contain errors.

Wife a d I just got back from vacation in a very yuppie town. The restaurant we ate at refused to accept cash payment (but gladly accepted cash tips). I brought up the hypocrisy of it and the waitress was kind of a bitch about the whole thing. Regardless, It was probably the first time in my entire life I didn't tip at a restaurant and it was because I was so soured by the whole thing. It sounds like they're trying to "steer" people into digital transactions. That's all part of the great reset "own nothing, yada yada", and since cash is something (kinda) they're pulling it.
Anyway make sure you've got some kind of heating solution, and other things like flashlight+batteries and candles, because germany especially is in big danger of running out of power this winter.
I kinda have the opposite problem: I pulled out way too much cash over the past years and now I want to buy PMs with it, but that can't be done in cash legally.

Come SHTF, you'll be choking on a greasy hadji weiner in some back alley to pay for your one bug-meal a day and you know it, you corpulent urbanite swine. You'll have std's on your std's from all the 'ficki-ficki' you'll be forced to endure to survive. Your knees will be more calloused than a fucking dromedary camel's. Speaking of camels, post-SHTF, the word "hump" will cause you to drop to the floor, piss yourself, and scream as you have violent, involuntary flashbacks of that pack of feral Fentanyl-Americans who ran a train on your pasty, rotting asshole for eight hours straight. But you'll tell yourself it was worth it, even as people pass by your shivering, urine-soaked form on the street, because you got a Kennedy half dollar out of the deal. That's like, uh...what did those silver guys in /pmg/ say...90% silver, right? You'll try to reassure yourself as you pull out the milk-stained beauty from your thread-bare jacket pocket. But then you'll notice something that will make your wretched, plaque-clogged heart stop cold: it's a post-1970 coin. It has no silver.
And then, your shuddering, diseased body will finally give up, and you'll shit your pants as you pass away, unnoticed and forgotten, on the filthy streets of some formerly-civilized urban center. And not even the wild dogs will want to pick your bones clean.

We didn't even know they didn't accept cash until I went to pay the bill up front and attempted to hand her $40 to which she notified me of the little sign at the counter. I didn't think to start a whole argument beyond whatever. I was so caught off guard and taken back that I just discussed it with her for a minute, refrained from swearing and name calling and calmly drew a line through the tip line. Handed it back to her while maintaining eye contact.
Like I said, we were out of town on a mini vacation and this was the first I experienced this. And I've been to some pretty left shitholes before. Definitely learned my lesson. I've heard of it being a thing but was surprised.

That's called tax evasion, and it's illegal. Nobody needs to engage in illegal activities. Some people chose to do so, and they are breaking the law. All small businesses across the board are going to be paying more taxes and accounting fees because of this, and that will probably drive some of them out of business, which is kinda the point of that new bill. It's another way for big money to kill the little guys and Blackrock & Co. to swoop in and buy their assets using the trillions of fiat they got for nothing, like they did during the lockdowns. This is just the next phase in destroying the competition and eliminating alternatives to megacorps that will enforce the WEF rules.

My understanding is that the price of silver doesn't impact them whatsoever. They have a system where they always "buy low and sell marginally higher." Silver could be $1 or $100 an ounce and it doesn't change their income because they'll always buy/sell with the same margins.

I think you're still naively believing that outage was some kind of genuine error. Let's put this into perspective. Before the virus shit in 2020, there was a simulation in 2019 called "Event 201". Later on they announced another simulation called "Cyber Pandemic". Now obviously no big cyber event has actually happened yet, so we must still be in the simulation phase. That "outage" was likely just a test. One day the real cyber event will take place, and very likely most people will be locked out of their money. Maybe it will happen because the bankers are starting to lose control, and too many people are pulling their money and putting it into hard assets. Right now they've still got most of the population pacified, despite heavy inflation and shitty economy.
It might sound hard to believe, but this is the reality. The german and other european politicians also understand very well what they're doing in regards to sanctioning russia. They're just following a script that's designed to cause chaos and destroy the existing system to replace it with another. You can't "build back better" if there's nothing to rebuild in the first place.
So yeah pull out your money because one day, probably not long from now, the real cyber event will happen and everyone with money in the bank will be locked out, much like the people at the canadian trucker protests.

I think platinum is great. It's main use is in catalytic converters. People seem to think that electric cars are viable alternatives, however the bottleneck being silver makes it impossible. We will never stop making gas powered cars in our lifetime, DESPITE the "green initiatives".

You know what really gets me hard about platinum? It's how tiny the above ground supply is. Yea, sure, it's an industrial metal that could see a slowdown if a global depression kicks in. But the amount of money that may chase the metal could easily dwarf the above ground supply.
Due to it's extreme high melting point, for many centuries humans treated it as a waste product because they couldn't melt it. And they were literally dumping it into the ocean off of the coast of spain. So not only is it rare, but we weren't even really hoarding it like we were other metals.
I will say though, will all of that said, outside of a few ounces of platinum, I still think the moon case for silver is still one of the most bullish cases out there. The digital world run on electricity, electronics, smart this, smart that... it all needs a fuckton of silver. I still don't know what is better. 1oz of platinum or 40 ounces of silver? Both will do well, and I think the fundamental case for silver is better than platinum... but again. Go look at the size of the platinum above ground supply.

When I started stacking, Palladium was $280 an ounce. I was a poor college kid and didn't buy any. I am actually really blown away by how well it has done. My presumptions were that the bread and butter of "gold and silver" were the be-all-end-all of precious metals. I am much more inclined to think a little outside of the box on these things nowadays.
I own over 100 pounds of copper pennies, 5 kilos of Tellerium. My philosophy is to not miss the boat on any investment just because I don't understand it or think it is too exotic. I remember all too well that stupid paint drawing of "magic meme money" on reddit, talking about Bitcoin back in the early 2010s.

My one concern about platinum is counterfeits along with people being suspect of counterfeit platinum. It's more expensive, but the U.S. pt coins seem like a nice hedge. I have some smaller denominations in assays and I wouldn't be able to tell convince you off of the top of my head that it's not just silver labeled platinum. More spoopyness incoming. After the Whitney's podcast about Wexner, i went out of my way to read the NYT article from the 80s, and holy fuck the level of judaism was insane.
English ain't my mother tongue, but i consider myself quite fluent. I shit you not i couldn't understand a damn fucking sentence before the 3rd paragraph because the author (a certain Julie goldbaum or goldberg or whatever) was using so many yiddish words.
It was like reading Teshivah magazine, i had to make sure it was indeed the Jew York Time Magazine who produced this juden babbling.

Even back then the signs were everywhere, even without internet the boomers have ZERO excuse to not be aware about the jewish problem.

Maybe a Buddy propane heater, they're made to have the little 1lb tanks screwed in but you can get hoses and hardware to attach bigboi tanks like pic. They use a ceramic catalyst element so it doesn't generate much if any carbon monoxide so is relatively safe for indoor use, gotta leave a fresh air intake window cracked tho. Might be some better options but this is what I got as my emergency backup heat source. You could probably heat water for hot water bottles to put in a comfy nest of bedding to stay warm if it comes to it.

maybe im retarded and i probably am, but wouldnt the cracked window negate the heating ability of the buddy? ive thought about this option before, albeit not very much.

Just wear winter clothes inside and buy a winter sleeping bag.
Also buy a gas-based mini-stove to heat up food and water.
That should be enough (I assume that standard preparations are already done, food is better to be prepared and canned, water is better to be in small bottles for easier unfreezing).

It's a shithole yeah, but that's to be expected for any part of /biz/ and moreso any part with an entrenched population of /pol/tards. As far as the design goes, I would have preferred a more traditional bust of Jovita. I don't think her significance should be literally spelled out on the coin; the designers should have just focused on making something elegant first and informative second.

If it's just the window pane that's cracked, then cover it with heavy tape. That'll seal it and prevent the crack from getting worse.
You can also add an additional layer of insulation by carefully taping bubble wrap to the window frame, so you end up with a sort of ghetto double-paned window. You have to make sure the bubble wrap is fitted perfectly and doesn't have any gaps. Also check the seals on the window's edges, and use a candle or something to see if there's any air currents (obviously that's bad).
When I was living in a camper, I insulated the hell out of my windows with 3 layers of materials:
1. plain old aluminium foil taped directly to the window pane, covering it entirely
2. a sheet of the heaviest/thickest plastic I could find, cut a bit larger than the window frame size
3. 3/4-inch thick polystyrene sheet precisely cut to fit into the window frame so there are no gaps
I kinda jammed the polystyrene sheet into the frame so that it held the plastic sheet in place (sandwiched between the other two materials), and the plastic provided a perfect seal.
I also made some removable inserts like that for my ceiling vents, because of course a lot of heat escapes that way. Anyway it really helped a lot to say cool in the summer and warm in the winter. But I didn't have to worry about power outages, I had the camper's built-in propane heater, and also a small 2000 W electric heater (which I used most often because it was sufficient). I would have definitely bought one of those Mr. Buddy heaters if we were in SHTF territory like today.
Now another bad thing: if it gets really cold and people lose heating, there will be lots of problems with water pipes bursting. If it gets so cold that you end up needing to isolate yourself into a small, well-insulated closet with your heater and sleeping bag, then for sure you'll need to close the valves and purge your water pipes. Before that of course you'll want to stock up some water, so get some water containers.

I'm actually ecstatic that the price is dropping again. The price is literally fake, and the price fixing will eventually expose the shortages. That's the problem with the hands-on control the banks exert over things. Their usurious schemes are wealth-extraction mechanisms via the use of inflation. They can't allow legitimate price discovery or else their little game falls apart which leaves open a chink in the armor, so to speak. As impervious as the whole system appears, these distortions can be isolated and seized upon to cause a disconnect in the paper world and the real world.

Incorrect. Until we see bond market collapse nothing has happened yet. There is no price discovery on anything and the obvious disconnects in the markets, interest rates, and pricing in general means you want to have one foot in the safety trade until these things come to a head.

I agree but 1 oz just works so well for coins.

How many grams would metric coins have? 30 is bad since you can't divide 1 kg into coins then.

Not sure why it would have to even up, but how about 50g rounds/coins? Or 30g and 20g as optional sizes - we see 20g bars now. Or? 25g.
It's just what you get used to. Some people find it very difficult to change, or fear a future they can't imagine or understand, and lash out.
But realistically, I know it's not going to change. It's just that it would have been nice.
