Is there anything worse than growing up in an upper middle class family and realizing you will never make as much as your parents make?

Make sure your parents hold physical gold
so when they die and the government steals the house and everything in it you at least have some shiny boomer rocks as memorabilia

I'm in this boat.

Parents paid for my degree and I'm smart but I got a BS in history. Figured out that'll I'll never make any money doing it and basically partied for 7 years. Whoops, became addicted to alcohol. Got thrown in jail etc.

Now I have a big titted white wife with a fat ass, I'm sober, a car and a shitty job at Amazon making 35k. Dad was making almost 200k before he quit.

My dad is an idiot too.

My rent is 900 and I'd be willing to bet my dad pays at least that much in cable tv subscriptions. Gets pissed when I call him out of living outside his means

my dad made himself from zero to owning his own company and pulling between 500k and 700k a year. he paid for the best school in the country and my engineering degree. i grew up with bipolar disorder and a shitty attitude. im a software engineering in a no-name company with a 90k salary. im a disappointment and they still support and love me. it destroys me inside.

You were probably not as smart as you thought you were.
I hope by now you've realized
t. I'm in the same category

Why aren't you trying to work in your dad's company? Also stop comparing yourself to your dad based on income, your parents certainly don't think of yourself as some number. I guess that's your shitty attitude coming through, but you can work on that.

i doubt it applies to this guy, but there are brilliant people in all fields of study. not everyone has to be an autistic STEMlord to be smart, and i say this as a sperg who has a degree in math.

90k salary and being a software engineer is well above average. You should be happy your parents love you

I was a suse chef with 0 education in food prep but I started out making sandwiches.

Now I drive a forklift but deep down Im smart enough to know that some kid with 10 years experience knows more than I do. That's life I guess.

On my lunch break I redpill my coworkers on Colonial America and the celts. Oh how far have we fallen

Here's how history education works fren. Since you're curious.

Basically, if you want to teach at the university level (where history is actually taught) you'll NEVER TEACH AT A SCHOOL BETTER THAN THE ONE YOU GOT A DEGREE FROM

I didn't go to an ivy league. Museums are for children.

I think I was duped. Smart people get duped too. At least I don't get a masters

Growing up in a working class with a blue collar father and a housewife mother and knowing you won't be able to buy a house or anything worthy when your father was able to buy a house with fucking cash needing no loan at all. And I am the most educated and "succesful" person in my extended family. It is aristocracy once again. If you don't come from at least an upper-middle class family, you are absolutely fucked.
