A lot of the boomers in this photo can't use a computer. Some of the older secretaries included. So they too need younger people to do the most basic things for them, including entering in things into the accounting software. I reckon it could be a pretty comfy job. Tell Karen you sorted the companies by name and added up all the financials for the day, when in actuality you just used the built in sort and autosum in excel. They think you're some kind of 'go getter' that is working hard when you mostly just do nothing but pretend to look busy all day.

That said, given the sheer number of women, I'd say they actually do a lot of shit like that manually, like buffet wants to see the quarterly return for some company, old Karen goes to a website and prints it out. Gives it to the younger Karen who then types it into an excel sheet. And most of their time is wasted in meetings, gossiping and pretending to look busy. Probably one or two competent people that could code or automate excel/bookkeeping and would replace most of the people in the photo.

But boomers don't want automation, they can't understand it. They require younger people to be at their beck and call, their personal IT support.

The only reason why a guy like Buffet has an edge is because of his political connections (initially via his father). Then other people use him as a proxy to prop up their monopoly, like when Bill Gates got him to buy Apple stock, he then repays Gates tax free via 'donations' to his foundation. If this guy just had the financial reports and a Bloomberg terminal, the company would consistently lose money because without those private conversations and firm handshakes with insiders he has nothing. The insider trading is so fucking obvious as well (pic related is a recent enough one).
