if the share price runs up, they will dilute (again)
it is possible, and the risk / reward is such that you could gain 4x and lose 1x, so it's not awful, but there is so much stacked against it, that one decent Halloween season isn't going to save it
It also has the double edged sword of meme stock, where if AMC/GME/BBBY have a bad day they'll drag it down - or because of PRTY low share price, and irrational belief in this Halloween season being crazy for parties / costumes / party city causes a meme stock frenzy for it

Naked puts on stocks you want to buy. The stocks you want to buy are value stocks (especially those that reliably pay good dividends), as well as hedging ETFs (eg HDGE, COMT, TAIL, SARK, UUP, VIX, and VIXM). Leveraged ETFs are worse than options for the exact same reason you think options are bad. That is, you can get screwed from leverage when the market turns even slightly against you.

A cash secured put is no riskier than buying a stock in a cash account. Naked puts on margin are only riskier to the extent that they are leveraged. Which is why knowing how to hedge and diversifying into uncorrelated assets is an absolute must for margin investors.

I did. There's one in the shopping mall in the town I live in. Town is mostly old white people with an average house cost of 1.3 million.
