I guess you could frame it like that, but it's not a button - it's all automated. Algorithms turn themselves off in an instant if a certain set of criteria are met.

It takes some discretionary input to manage hedge fund models but it is mostly algorithms the whole way....however it's not the sort of full stack approach where you do not touch it.

Hedge funds don't obviously interfere from the gut, but I may make additions to the logic based on specific scenarios and asset classes it finds itself trading

If you're in it just for a short term trade, I'd just sell once the gap back to $3 gets filled and call it a day (even if there is a second gap back to $10).

By mid to early October, there should be a lot more certainty about how this will play out, so that'd also be a good time to evaluate the position and exit if you're not comfortable. I intend to hold until January and start selling covered calls.

the thing is my average is $1.02 since I recently exercised my $1Cs, which is close to how much the company is projected to earn in next year's EPS alone, so I don't really need an exit strategy with my shares. I intend to sell my $2C calls during the Halloween hype though.

The thought process behind my initial trade was so long as it stays above $1, the company isn't at risk of being de-listed and is therefore more likely than not to survive. I also assumed that the $1 mark was a strong psychological support level that the market wouldn't let the stock cross.
