Everything is going to be okay. In five years you will be rich, directing your own company. You will have a 10/10 wife and 4 beautiful children and a super cute loyal dogie. You will find true happiness in life and you will die in your sleep as a 97 years old man who doesn't have any regrets.

I think the only people who lose their job are people who live with their parents. Otherwise, how could anybody possibly fire someone who NEEDS a paycheck for rent / family / etc?

I was laid off too, a couple months ago. Started a daycare so I could stay home with my son and make money. If you're male this probably won't work out for you, but look around your area and see if there are gaps for services that you could fill. Commieforinia waived fees for starting businesses, maybe your location did something similar. I love running my own business. It would take a lot to get me back in the wagie cagie.

I got a new work coach this week, super chatty to the point of asking me questions that dont even pertain to me getting work.

I gone through two good work related rejections this month from gate keeping hacks. I cant take that society expects something, just give me rent money and leave me alone. I might go to the doctor and open up about the things I experience, maybe I can get the sweet schizo bucks. Last night there was a lightning storm right above me. One time I got angry at a promise made and broken that an angry tempest decimated their entire business. My frustration might cause an earthquake. I am God.

the way it happens is that upper management will tell middle management that they need to lay off X number of people from their team. middle management will then look for the people who contribute the least or who have the worst "scores" and lay them off regardless of human qualities like depressed, poor, just divorced, etc

My employer and lots of other companies have a hiring freeze at the moment and are cutting costs. You should try to get another position soon before more people are layed off and the job market becomes more difficult. We are heading into a recession

Depends on the state and the specific employer, I believe. In my situation specifically - my employer has a policy that if someone reaches out for employment verification they will only confirm that I did indeed work there and my employment dates. An anon in another thread said confirmed that most HR companies now-a-days will just verify position and employment dates.
