I already have a decent grasp of coding python using the pandas dataframe, csv data analysis methods using pandas, etc. on Jupyter notebook.

But the thing is that most actual companies use SQL as in-database analytics rather than importing data into an IDE or a notebook like Jupyter.

So learning pandas on python for data analytics is cool and all but literally none of that matters until you can apply those principles to big-data in the context of a corporate setting where they use SQL and such for large groups of data.

If you're asking whether you have to know sql to use hadoop, then I don't know because I've never used hadoop. If you're asking if people have used them in tandem, the answer is yes. Virtually every relational database on the market requires some knowledge of SQL, so any time a programmer users a third party relational database, there's probably SQL involved.
You can really think of it more like a protocol than a language.
