How do I get ideas to start my own business/startup?

A little context,
>was a software engineer, wageslaved for 2 years
>now be neet
>Bored of being a neet
>Don't want to be a wageslave
>Don't have an expertise in any specific domain
>came to this board looking for people discussing business
>finds schizos pumping shitty cryptos
>most business books don't talk about generating ideas
>also currently reading The Business Ideas Factory

Yea most business books give you a general idea of what makes a good biz
Like finding a big demand and fulfilling it
The hard part is finding it I guess but not only finding it, you really have to fall in love with that idea or else you won’t be motivated to keep going.
Anything in particular you want to change in this world? It’s best to look at the skills you posses and see how you can make them profitable for you

A great way to get an idea is to keep waging at different industries. Especially in small companies that do things that the big guys aren't already doing.

Then break off at some point and form your own, using your automation skills to outcompete the small businesses that you formally worked for. Don't steal customer lists or data just make a clean break maybe even move to a different state to start your own thing.

Where did you work as an SE or what industry

Pick one. SE is not wageslaving, anon.

Thanks for the tips. I worked in Amazon for 1 year, then in a unicorn startup in my country (an app like tiktok).

Though SE has significantly higher wages than other jobs, it still is wageslaving by definition. I'm hoping to earn a lot more by starting my own biz

doesn't work. kneepads is always the first of only a few comments if you make an actual business thread.

if you look around you, everything has been bought and sold many times to get to where they're at now. perhaps that can spark some idea.
be alone with your thoughts for awhile and think about creating something of value. don't think of how you can get rich. if you were the business owner down the street, what would offer him great value?
the easiest startup you can do is service-oriented. like another anon said, look for ways to automate processes. if youre good at software development, create some kind of software/webapp/mobile app or whatever that you think might be useful. maybe look at what programs certain companies use and make it better.

how do you plan to get your startup off the ground if you can't even motivate yourself to work in some piss easy sw dev job?
