None of this money will be transferred the way you think. My grandfather is a good example of everyone's future. He had about $700k saved up and owns his house and some land. He had a very minor stroke that aggravated his dementia. It costs $10k a week for his at home care. That's what they mean when they say the money will be transferred. Same my grandpa probably had ball park between 3-7 million he blew most of it by by a log cabin rental property at the top in 07-08 for 1.5 mill and sold the bottom for like 800k, bought a sail boat, went on 2-3 cruises/European vacations a year, got swindled out of 50k by his girlfriends son, then once his health failed he had a stroke and multiple hospital visits/had to be in a retirement home that cost god knows how much and left 0 for any of his grandchildren. I’m sure my dad got a little something but he left his only grandkids nothing…… oh well I’m not entitled to it still kind of blows my mind we didn’t even get like 10k or something.

That's not how it works. You don't pay income tax on inheritance. You just get the money. The estate pays estate tax but the vast majority of estates pay no tax.
