What I will say, when I break my life up into segments likes this. Each segment is initiated/ended by something definable. For example a traumatic event or a variety of traumatic events being an end to a good period, or the fading out of those things leading to a good period. Or a good catalyst ushering in a good period. Periods of your life can be colored by these things. I will try to do a rough timeline.

0(slight trauma, though good baby energy)-(trauma fades, some good enters, maintain some good energy)-5(mostly good, good energy maintained)-10(various traumas, some good stuff)-11(various traumas, some amount of good stuff)-16(mostly good)-(mostly good)19(good but then big trauma)-(some traumas, small amount of good kept going, fog blows through)25-(less trauma, some good, fog blows through)-(some trauma, quite still, ok)29-(Bit of a rut, but fairly good, not much traumas, fog blows through still)

Nothing mattered, I didn't care about anything, I could move in/out of any social circle, and girls loved me.

The years after weren't terrible, and I'm still on the up after a brief trough of a career change. But nothing has compared in terms of ease, lack of responsibility, and sense of belonging.

What was once a free spirit is chained by the bounds of the rules of this system, and trying to carve a piece of it for myself. The youthful confidence, battered by experience. The bravery overshadowed by insecurity.

I've been hit really hard a couple times and I never fully recovered. How the hell do you get that back?

Thankfully my parents are wealthy so I don't have to worry about waging/rent etc but yeah otherwise I'm a failure. Feels comfy tho, study Quran/Languages/History/Philosophy all day every day and smoke a cigar here and there and watch animu for entertainment.

Exercise at home also.
Thank God for not being a cursed anglo whose parents hate him and would've kicked him outta home @ 18.

Before that I abused alcohol/drugs as a teen and had a girlfriend here and there for sex. Honestly, I'm fine the way I am now, teen years were cool also back in 2004 banging HS girlfriend+playing WoW, can't complain.

harsh but probably true. that's not what I was talking about getting back by the way, I got crucified in one of my careers when the private owners sunset. Now I cling hard to security instead of having the confidence to bet on myself, or go all in. Analysis paralysis is my game, and I always have a foot out the door, no matter where I find myself.

It feels safe cultivating options, but then, if I never go all in, I never give myself the chance to fully invest myself, and never give myself the chance to succeed. Too concerned about making the wrong choice, ends with developing at a slow pace at best, or regressing at worst.

18-21 (so far). 2014-2016. I lived at home during college and my parents were always off on business, so I got the whole place to myself. Chan culture was at its zenith. Good times.
2005-2008 is a close second. MW2, lazy summer days biking around.
Frankly, both of these periods had little to do with my age and more about the general life and societal circumstances I found myself in. Things are actually going pretty well for me materially rn but my parents are undergoing cognitive decline and COVID kinda derailed a lot of shit for me.

This. I've had sex with a couple girls that were virgins. Modern women have been conditioned to think that casual sex by at least 18 is part of being "young, wild and free" and are actually pretty desperate to get dicked down. They can't see the emotional damage until it's too late, and will then blame it on "abuse."
