Just so you know, the dollar index only measures the dollar relative to a basket of other currencies.
Most of those comparison currencies happen to be ones inflating even worse than USD.

If you want something stable to price assets in, consider using gold or oil. Oil itself is volatile so you'd have to smooth out the average pretty heavily though. In the end, there's no perfect way to measure assets.
